Default Ported throttle body on F/I car?

I have an A&A kit on my 2001 LS1, with headers. Car makes 10 psi. What would a new or ported throttle body do for me?

Is there any quick and easy HP to gain? Would I need to retune?

Thanks

There has been many on here that think it helps.. I for one feel, it definitely improves the airflow going into the intake. It definitely can't hurt. I wouldn't run out and buy a new ported throttlebody over the stock one. Definitely not worth it. If you have time, just take and do it yourself...

LS6 tb....you do realize there is technically no such thing right?

The LS1 and LS6 throttle body's are the same...even have the same GM number. So your stock LS throttle body to you works fine...and they do...just like your stock exhaust manifolds work "just fine" too. The idea is to get the best airflow in and out of the motor. So with that...porting and polishing definitely improves the airflow...how much improvement will really only be determined by how good a porting and polishing job along with what other improvements are done to compliment this.

To the OP....is it an early 2001 or late model 2001?. Trying to see if you have the LS6 intake or not. They came stock from late 2001 on up. Early 2001 models had the LS1 intake. You can gain 10hp just from changing the intake to the LS6 if you don't have it on the car already. I know it is only 10 but hey every HP counts. How do you know what is on your car?

You can always go the route of a Fast intake too but it costs a lot more and requires more modification/money to make fit properly. Plenty of other options too that will give you a few more ponies and not cost a lot of money. You already did that by purchasing the charger.

I've always read its more of a throttle response improvement. Just cleaned my TB and although not terribly dirty I did notice a slight improvement in smoother idle and throttle response.
Couldn't help noticing how "rough" the airhorn and mid section of the TB were, gotta believe some "porting" would yield slightly more improved throttle response....
