Default Look at my belt ?!?!?!

is this normal. it has these little "cracks or splits" in my new 8 rib belt. WTF.

any ideas ????

make sure your BOV is working! check vacumme line or it may be too small . my vac. line was off one time and it broke my belt. what BOV u got?

Double check your BOV as a/c man mentioned.

If your BOV is working correctly, than switch to a Gates HD belt (the green one) and that problem will be gone IMO.

ok I have a vortech mondo bov and it's been working properly from everything I can tell. I dont understand why it is splitting in that one spot.

+1 for green HD belt.

this is a new 8 rib setup, d1 3.85 pulley and direct drive

belt to me looks like that's where they bond it together from factory!! could be a defective belt? replace it with a hd green one before it breaks should be OK just my opinion

I bought some belts of e-bay that had the same splits as your and guess what they broke in have. That is not normal from what i've experienced. Out of three belts i got one had no splits and that belt is still on my car and doing it's job.

Looks like the group of smaller ones have been there since production, you can see fresh paint in the one groove.

I thought it was known that the green back ones stretch worse than the normal ones.

I believe even Steve from A&A confirmed that awhile back.

I've yet to have that problem. Yes they stretch some but noy bad in my experience
