Default Home Made Supercharger System is Finished.....mostly

Well it's all bolted up and the Z runs....I need to get it tuned still.

Fist off I know there are going to be plenty of haters....folks are gonna ask why? Why not buy an ECS or A&A? You should have done it this way or that way. I just want to be clear that I'm not saying this is a better set up than these proven systems and I'm sure my set up has it's short comings and that I'll find this out the hard way over the coming months.

This is not 100% complete, I will be looking at putting an air filter inside of the shroud. Also the airscoop is a little too low and should be no lower than the frame work.

The Following items have been installed

Vortech V2 SQ Si

A2A vertical flow Intercooler

Turbo Smart Blow Off Valve

3" Charge Pipe

Alky Control Meth Injection kit

60lbs Injectors

LPE Walbro Fuel Pump

Kenny Bell Boost a Pump

LPE Battery Relocation Kit

The Brackets, Pullies and Supercharger packaging was designed and machined by a friend of mine that has some serious skills.

The rest of the install was done in a buddies garage. He has a lift, TIG and fabrication skills that I envy.

How fast are you going to spin the blower? When is it hitting the dyno? How long did it take you guys to fab up the bracket? Looks good, looking forward to some results.

Not sure what he calculated it to spin to. We're looking to make around 8-10lbs. We'll see on Saturday when the car gets on the dyno. The brackets were fabbed over a 3 month time period. I started this project in January. With family, work, funding, and the fact that he lives 3 hours away didn't help. So the drawings were done based on a simular system for a 4th gen Camaro and then modified based on my measurements given via email.

Looks VERY professional! You are very fortunate to have friends that can & will help you with a project like this, never let them forget how much you appreciate them, either. My only question at the moment is what is the transverse rail under the radiator/intercooler? That isn't on mine, and I scrape the air dam enough I'd worry having something sticking down that far below the parallel rails. Anyway, very nice job man, can't wait to see the numbers!!!

Best regards,
...z

That is an air dam or scoop if you like. Yes that is going to have to come up. I'll address that this coming weekend.

Yes all of the brackets were done by my friend. I'll post up a pic of the brackets this evening.

Sweet looking setup!

I want to hear what she sounds like with that cog setup? Need an idle clip and dyno!

Did your buddy make the cog style pulleys?

Like I stated in the Initial post, We are going to place a filter in the shrouding.....we haven't got there yet. This small filter was a way to get it mobile while I wait on the correct parts.

Hey,

Well done!!! I would like information on your air filter. I have always wondered why they did not just put it right on the blower. There is a popular mod on this forum using 4" tubing. Your filter must be a 4" if it fits right on the blower. This is said to be a 5% increase. Can you give me the info on the filter? Where you bought it.....ETC.

Thank you,

Mark G.
