Default 390 build supercharged or turbocharged?

I am having a forged 390 built and am wanting to go FI. Currently I am H/C/I/E and it's fun, but I just want more. I am wanting to be in the 750 hp range and want a mid/low 10 sec car. I've been reading through threads dealing with ECS and A&A. They seem to get solid results. My question is this, how come really no companies are doing turbo kits for these cars? Outside of STS I really haven't seen any. Is supercharging these cars just that much better than dealing with twin turbo's? Is a supercharger what I should be looking at to meet my performance goals?

Thanks

Overly complicated and expensive relative to the supercharger kits available. You can get a TTiX kit or one from UPP if you want a turbo kit. I would recommend surveying those that have gone turbo to ask if they regret it considering the price and challenges associated with going that route.

Unless you are going big time racing with the car only. Also letting one of the big places do the work on it. No way I would go turbo in the car. Just from a cost and some problems. Look at A/A are ECS superchger. If you want big power look at the YSI are the 2500 novi from ECS... Robert

Thanks guys, that's about what I figured. Time/Money/Difficulty. ECS or A&A it will be.

Wasn't really decided on either initially, just curious which was better for my goals.

There is not a lot of room in there to put a well-designed turbo kit together. That comes with quite a few trade-offs. The turbos are going to make the power more easily, and they will need less fuel and octane to do it. You just have to weigh all the pros and cons. For 750rwhp it seems like a simple blower kit would be perfect though. Cheaper and simpler.

ive had all three. nos,s/c and turbo cars and i can say the turbo was just most fun to drive and easiest to make power with. the only reason i went s/c this build is i had head unit layin around was cheaper just to bUy a kit without head unit then go turbo. im acually waiting to see if unleashed is goin to ever get there kit into production so i can sell s/c and go turbo. if u have the money i would go turbo. most people just chose a s/c setup because of price. its all easy to install if u have any idea how to hold a wrench a read directions.

Funny............I don't remember you using the word "easily" during your entire build thread.

Sorry buddy. I couldn't help myself.

If you want to run in the 9's....get with josh over at Resurrection. Single turbo and proven. I believe the cost will be less than $7k installed. I've had both setups and the supercharger route always ended up costing more with all the add ons needed. $750 for a Damn flip drive is a perfect example.

Damn 7k installed? I'd do that in a split second if I was close enough to Texas.
