Default Upgrade?

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is an upgrade for an A and A procharger kit that was installed back in 2003 I believe. I'm getting mixed signals that I can and cannot change the gears in my head unit. It is a P1SC. If there is any other upgrades for reliability or performance, please chime in. I appreciate it. Thanks.

Procharger now offers helical (as opposed to straight-cut) gears as an option in their P1 blowers. There is no performance benefit, it was done to cut down on noise.

You could go with a more efficient intercooler, I know A&A has one.

Reliability- fueling system, BAP+fuel pump if you don't have them. Also a forged motor if you have the $$$

Are you stock cubes/internals? If so then about the only thing you can do is a cam and headers without going in to the motor.

It is stock internals. Would you still consider a BAP with a Lingenfelter fuel pump installed? Im putting down 442 whp 475 torque. LG longtubes X pipe, no cats. Still need cat backs. Its a reliable tune at 7 lbs boost. What kind of numbers can be expected if I go with heads and cam? Thanks for advice.

You could get a newer bracket, better intercooler, and dongle if you wanted.

For reference- I'm making 550whp on an 02Z with headers and A&A kit+P1SC. 10lbs boost. I have Lingenfelter pump, will install BAP next week.

I have the single A&A intercooler.

You should be able to make alot more power with a few upgrades.

I have been out of the loop for awhile so I apologize for my ignorance. What is the difference between the new bracket and old and what makes it better? What kind of changes did they make to the intercooler and is it an easy exchange or do I have to modify anything for fit? Thanks.

Long story short- there's alot of other stuff to upgrade before you even touch the head unit. Lookie here:

I'd call Frank @ A&A and ask him what your options are...

just what are we looking for? more power by :
a harder driven engine= increase boost, shorten life of stock motor?
or more power increase life of motor?
AMS Racing is presently rebuilding me a 383 stroker forged stl rotating assbly, dished pistons for 9.5:1 comp ratio CompCam on P1SC at 7.5#,
my goal= more power & longer engine life at a price $$$$.
