Rad! Thanks Jeremy. I don't suppose you snapped a pic of the bucket after you were done America's Top Chef-style chopping it up?

The fuel pump strainer I used was Airtex part number FS158.

Honestly I just cut everything off even with the pressure line. Then I welded a piece of rod to the piece of sheet metal between all the lines. Then I bent the rod to position the pump at the right location.

No problem at all. It's been working perfect too. I know it isn't "Rated" for E85. But there are plenty of C6 Z06 owners running them on E85 for thousands of miles with no issues that I've found.

You're talking about the strainer/filter, not the pump itself, right? Assuming so since they have the e85 pump out now.

Well after only 100 gallons of fuel my Walbro 400 died. I expected it since it wasn't E85 approved. These cars are so simple to change fuel pumps on I wasn't too sad. The worst part was being stranded an hour from home at 1am lol. I am not 100% sure that the E85 was the cause of the failure but the only parts that were damaged were the brushes which are pretty much the only parts that see constant friction.

I purchased the new Walbro 450 pump and installed it tonight. It is nearly identical to the Walbro 400 except for the wiring. The 485 comes with a delco connector prewired on. I cut it off and wired it into the same plug I installed on my 400.

I also dissected the failed Walbro 400 and found the brushes were completely worn out in only 100 gallons of fuel. There was no brass inside like some have speculated. Here are a few pictures of the guts.

I cut the bucket off and installed a sock like a twin pump setup in an f-body. What year car are you installing it in?

The C6 Z06 pump is already E85 compatible and capable of 600+rwhp on E85. If you are looking to make big power keep the stock pump in there and plumb in two walbro E85 pumps along with it.

No worries man. No one has flowed the stock C6Z pump and a Walbro back to back. But TJ is running the stock pump in his C6 Z06 and I am running the Walbro E85 pump. We are both making very similar power on E85. They are very similar in flow.

Nah. The C6Z pump has been proven to be E85 compatible. He has 16,000 miles and nearly 2 years on this pump with E85. So Im assuming it is ok considering how fast my non E85 400 died.

What's the easiest way to get this to work with a stock fuel system, mainly hooking up to stock lines. I'm trying to plan out the best fuel system on a budget while supporting 650rw.
