***How many of you are pushing 650HP+ on stock Bottom End?***
I am having my car retuned next week. I am at 610 now with 10lbs on a Novi 2k. I 'm thinking about adding 2 more lbs of boost, I have meth also!
Just want to know who is pushing the limits of 10lbs+ and more than 650hp on stock bottom. I have heard of people pushing tons of meth and exceeding these numbers, am I crazy for trying to get to the 700HP mark? I do have money set aside for a forged bottom, but don't want to spend it! Will I be driving a ticking time bomb just waiting to go boom? All input is more than welcome, Thanks
Also Doug from ECS is going to be doing the tune if that helps?

I'm in the same boat. Looking at a 383 forged stroker kit for my ls6 vs buying an assembled short block. Sure, it's a ticking time bomb. The only question is what parts will be reusable after the fireworks.

I don't want to pull the restrictor plate, just get a little more out of her. I am spending good money for a tune, so I figured I would get as much HP as possible. I know 700hp is stretching it, but maybe I can at least get close. It will be a judgement call on Dougs part if the car can make that much without being a rolling bomb!

Seems to be a waste of money imho. I would start saving/sourcing parts for a forged motor then install that when its done (many shops and mfgr's are weeks behind so it will take some time to get it all together). Then have the car tuned for some high boost when you have that in the car. 2 more lbs of boost will get you somewhat close to 700rwhp but you really wont feel the difference. That is my .02

Of course there will be a slight difference but on the stock block you are already on borrowed time...with more hp that time (typically) decreases. Would I do it if I was in your shoes, no, but its your money and motor.

Find chris Stewart on here. Twin turbo. 700+ on his stock LS6 (well, it blew recently, but it ran for a while!)

Hell Ive been pushing it for years. Doug never dyno'ed it, just tuned it at the track after I log my runs. Do the math, 9.73@144. Weight is ~3600. 14 LBS on stock block. Start saving. Its only a matter of time for all of us!
I figure when mine goes, I cant complain. Ive got more passes with this motor than I ever expected... (~1300) I'm already faster than my bar will allow. So I do not need any more. I am not putting a cage in the car, so why waste my money on a crazy motor. Im just going to forge the bottom end... for now.

Why ask, you seem like you have your mind made up already.
Can you go WOT and hook up in all gears and use what you have now?
If not, why not work on that, then when you can use what you have to 100%, add some more.

I'm going to shoot for 700 as long as I have the fuel and meth to back it up, Im glad to see that there are others out there with good success at those numbers. I am willing to go for it as I drive my car easy compared to most, but there will be times of spirited driving!
If the motor goes BOOM, At least I can throw a piece of glass on top of it and turn it into a really cool coffee table in the garage with a good story!

That's funny. I am going to do the same thing. I am just one step ahead of you.

Yeah that power is addicting and tempting to keep adding more. If mine hadn't blown at 700ish, I wanted to try 800. No doubt it takes a toll on the parts. Would you rather have: more fun short term, or maybe hold off and extend the life? Getting mine back together has cost a pile of money and lots of downtime. But then you get the chance to go from this:
