Default ATI Procharger Install with Pic's and Dyno numbers

The install is on a stock C5. The Dyno shows approximately 450 RWHP and 420 ft-lbs Torque. The A/F is somewhat rich and will be addressed next. I have AutoTap logs that I will review later and will ask the Forum for help with.

Great pictures & documentation. I have a Z06 which I did an ATI install about a month ago. I didnt care for the ground clearence & remade the lower pipes out of manderal 2.5 tubeing & eliminated the right & left 45 degree hoses that attached to the 90's comeing out of the intercoolers. I also welded a short 15 degree pipe section to the lower y-pipe section that gets close to the sway bar. which enabled me to use only one of the hose's required to connect to the SC outlet. The air cleaner also didn't line up with the SC inlet which required drilling out the rivets & repositioning it. I'm very pleased with the outcome & the car is a blast to drive. I have a simular programming issue. I'm running about 11-1 A/F ratio. ATI has my programmer & is working on taking some fuel out. I just think that they are being cautious about burning someones engine up & getting sued. I also feel that the rev limit is set too low. It wants to keep pulling past 6,500. I have a time of it trying to keep it off the limiter. Have recently also installed some TPIS headers which I would guess gave me another 15 H.P. Next its time to put it on the dyno.

You have a missfire in your engine (shown in the gaps in the dyno run) it is so intermittant that the computer is not throwing a code. I had the same thing going on with my car for 3 years... I finally got it fixed. Whenever we get a chance to talk, I can tell you how to fix it.

Thanks much! This is with the Superchips Miro Tuner that came with the kit. I believe there is still a lot to be gain with some tuning.

I'm not sure if I want to send the Superchips Miro Tuner back and see if I can get more HP/Tq and lean it out some or go ahead and get LS1-Edit and try it myself...

What do you all think?

Get the LS1 Edit and do it yourself... While you are at it you may be able to fix the Miss your car has too.

BBC5,

Great pics and info.

Three questions for you.

WHere did you get the drill fixture.

How did you broach the damper?

What is being removed in this picture to pin the damper and why?

QuickSilver2002,

1) I got the drill fixure from ATI PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS. If you like, I'll give you a deal on it after vetterdstr has a chance to use it.

2) I had a local Damper shop do the work. ($25)

3) I was trying to show that not only does the steering rack need to be removed but also the exhaust pipes to remove the starter so you can place a tool onto the fly wheel to keep it from moving while removing the Damper.

BBC5,

Thanks for the info. It's all clear now. I guess ATI performance also sells an aftermarket damper that is ready for the pin, but it is much more than $25.

Installed the 7lb ATI kit this weekend. The surge valve that ATI supplies is JUNK! It leaks badly when closed. I found a replacement part if any one is interested. If you have the same problem the new valve should give better throttle response and more PSI. I will know more later in the week when I get time to do the fix.

All in all THE BLOWER ROCKS! Next stop Dyno!

Suggestions to future installers:
I would not install the kit with out Air tools. Man that would suck!
Soap and water are your friend when installing this kit!

P.S. Any one that is planing on doing the install them selves please take not the ATI kit is a KIT not a complete System. There is still some fabrication that must be done to get it to work at its best.
