Default "how to" ram air front license plate

Anybody have a good writeup for this? Rather not spend $250 for some plastic and mesh.

LG Motorsports sells a black screen plate for 100.00 and you just cut out a hole behind it its really that easy! some sell for 250.00 carbon fiber but the 99.00 one from lg works good!

If you live in a state that requires a front plate and you need to put it back on at some time be careful how much you cut out behind there. If you cut too much you wont have any tabs left to mount the plate screws.

That looks like it opens up quite a bit of air to the intercooler...might have to have two plate covers for my car, one for kill mode and one for toodle boppin around town.

What's the part that you can buy called?

Two questions... once you take off the cover and cut it, what is the black rubber lookin stuff going around the edges? Also, how do you know exactly how much to cut off of the piece the blocks the radiator/intercooler?

Anybody know how much this really helps? Seems like it would get a lot more direct air to the intercooler..

It's a good thing, kinda like walking around with your zipper down.

If you do a really neat cut, you may find that you don't need the rubber or plastic trim piece. I tried it both ways, and like the appearance better without it.

As you can see, I left quite a bit of material behind the screen, plenty to mount a plate securely if ever needed.
