Finally got the LS7 and YSi to the drag strip, new personal best
I finally got my A&A LS7/ YSi combo to the drag strip. It took me 4 runs to get the tune dialed in enough to do a full run. My 5th run was 62% throttle until the shift to 2nd (about 2 seconds), after that I floored it. My AFR was in the high 10s and my timing was below 10 deg for most of the run (my IAT was pulling timing). It went from 82 deg to 158 deg by the end of the run, which seems a little high to me. That was with a dual nozzle alky control system running a M15 and a M10 nozzle turned up to 7. I was logging the pump pressure which held at about 145 PSI so I had good flow.
For the 6th run I adjusted the AFR and timing and floored it of the line. I almost immediately heard a pop and then the car bounced off the rev limiter. My tranny gave up the ghost….. I lost forward gears, reverse still works like a champ though. Track official said I had the fronts about a foot of the ground on that launch (didn’t even get a picture of it)
Here are the numbers and a video of my one good run. I was taking the car to 6400 rpm for the shifts which gave me 21 lbs of boost.
60' 1.516
330' 4.105
1/8 6.227
MPH 116.36
1000' 8.050
1/4 9.603
MPH 142.54
The car has a lot left, I need to get the AFR, timing, and IAT under control. You can turn up the video quality to 1080hd and if you turn up the volume you can hear the tires squealing for traction all the way down the ¼ mile….

Congrats!
Looks and sounds great going down the track!
Have you thought about what trans you'll be using?

Nice Et Mike sounds like you rolled the forward sprag. We have a new sprag we use now that we have been testing for about a year now with excellent results (zero failures)

I'll be giving RPM a call monday to see what I need to do to get the car back onthe road. I think I bought my current RPM tranny back in Feb of 07. Must have 50+ runs on it, plus a lot street abuse.

Vigilante 2600 with 3.42s. Went with the little stall for great drivability around town.

That was awesome Mike, great run!!
(my IAT was pulling timing). It went from 82 deg to 158 deg by the end of the run, which seems a little high to me. That was with a dual nozzle alky control system running a 5 and a 10 nozzle turned up to 7.
For the power you are making, change to M15 and M10 nozzles for sure. Tune with the box turned up to 8 and get that meth working for you. And you might as well put a M3 in front of that blower if you really want to get frisky.
Good luck with the re-build, I still need to send my RPM tranny back in for some of those upgrades too.
