Default HPE supercharger kit install results, thanks Cartek…

For all their hard work and engineering. I’m proud to say I have the first HPE Supercharger kit installed on my car which is a stock 02 Z06 with exhaust in which I opted for a Procharger D1sc head unit.

My initial impression driving the car was what I expected plus more. This car is an animal! I made 11psi with a 4.75" pulley! Which is extremely efficient due to less parasitic loss. It’s a stock balancer and 6rib setup spinning up to about 6400rpm. Going from 370rwhp to 590rwhp has me grinning ear to ear. Not only does it build boost quickly but remains very tame for street cruising. In fact the drivability feels so stock that my wife would have no problems driving the car...I would just tell her to keep it under 3000rpms.

The design of this kit is very well engineered with a ram air front mount inter-cooler it kept IAT’s at 122˚ at the end of dyno runs on a 94-95˚ day with zero meth. Driving on a hot 96˚ day with the AC off, temps never rose above 196˚ and on the same day in stop and go traffic with AC on, temps got up to 214˚ and briefly to 217˚ but dropped to 208˚ once I hit normal driving speeds.

The efficiency of the Flip Drive is ingenious and revolutionary with acceleration after acceleration the boost stayed the same with zero belt slip. I’m thrilled to have this power and not compromise my car to achieve a direct drive especially for my future mods. The quality of these pieces is quite stunning especially after it was polished it really gets you to appreciate the engineering that went into this…hats off to you Max.

Now I just can’t wait to hit the track and pull some numbers…thanks again guys!

Nice set up I like the option of using the blower head unit of choice. Great choice on the Procharger by the way, and a clean car you got there.

Your battery voltage is reading less than 13 V. Better check that out!

Yeah I need a new battery it won't hold a charge after 1.5 days...starting to have negative feelings against Red Tops...this will be my second one.

Nice numbers on what seems to be a great kit.

I'd love to see what 18-20 psi will do on a forged, stock cubic inch motor.

Very well designed kit...seems to incorporate the best features of all the kits on the market!

It sounds like you're describing your first experience with supercharging, rather than anything specific to this setup.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but there's not that much "efficiency" to be gained due to minor variations in the blower drive system. Peak power, perhaps, if the belt is slipping, but that isn't generally a problem with many modern systems at your power level.

Part of the enthusiasm is that I'm the first to test the newest kit on the market with pretty damn good results also considering the motor is all stock. I thought showing how the kit held up under hot and humid conditions was specific enough...what other specifics are you looking for?
IMO the Flip Drive is a pretty major variation in the blower drive system which is proven to increase efficiency...
