I've never used a BFG drag radial but they do look pretty cool.

They hook hard! But are scary in the rain.

For hooking up under w.o.t.(in the first couple of gears) i ve found that the BFG DR and the Nitto 555 DRs don t compare to Mickey Thompson DRs. A 275 MT will hook better than a 335 or 345 BFG/Nitto.

I have never used a BFG DR, but I can back up this statement. My fox-body mustang will pull the front tires off the ground with 275 M/T ET street radials ... without smoking them. Just a quick 5 second spin to clean them off. Also, scary in the rain, but the car is extremely stable... not at all like a bias ply drag tire.

Many have said the BFGs last 2x longer than the M/T for street use.

Please report back if you install those, I'd like to hear about it.

What he said!! God help you should you hit standing water or rain. I live in the rain state and have MT Drag radials and they scare the sh!te out of me if i get caught in a rain storm and they are brand new Beware A friend put his new GTO (a few years back) into the wall ,front n rear, after he hit rain on the FL. turnpike on BFG Drag Radials !!

I have them n i likem, but they don't last. My next tire would be M/T ET street radials.

I have used them on ever FI car that I have had and I have really liked them.

I am about to pull the trigger on a set of something that size too, I am completely torn as to what tire to run.

I don't care about longevity, but hooking a SC LS7 is going to rough either way... The BFG's are somewhat cheaper, but if set of tires last me a year I am happy. The BFG's lasted me about 5000-7000 miles on my last car. It was a TTiX car.

In my experience the BFG wears quick. The Mickey is a bit better and hooks hard 'til the end.

BFG's will make the car feel like the back end is floating sided to side at high speeds....takes some getting used to. But they hook well on the street.

Nitto's drag radial feel much more stable and hook about as well....

Actually they look like tires going bald. I had a set before and they work well, better than Nittos DR. Hoosiers work really well also .
The BFGs tend to walk quite a bit at over 120. The Hoosiers also walk, but not quite that much. The hoosiers either bite well or spin, no in between. The Nittos never hooked up for me. I would try MT's the next time out.
It seems that the AMerican tires hook better with less burn out.

I have the BFG's and they hook as well as I would expect them to. I had an issue with them walking at high speeds and had the rear aligned and the problem was solved. M/T's will be next.

How do the M/T's corner on the street?

I report on those tires on my car after 500 miles and multiple tire pressure testing.
First of a video upshifting through the gears on a private clean secured road a sunny day here in Florida:

Traction is fine for what I am doing, a little more would be sure better...as I am loosing traction as in 4th gear.

BUT the side to side movement above 130 mph is not what I was waiting from a radial tire...I will not buy those again.

What about the 335/30-18 PS2???

If I see BFG's on a car out on the street I no longer think about whether or not I can beat him; It's how many car lengths I'll pull on him before he finally hooks up!
Closed course street.

I've got a 305 MT on my 700whp car. It hooks up in 2nd gear.
