HPM LPE Minitub Installation
Thought I would post up some pictures of the minitub installation that I did on my 1999 FRC.
I really have no complaints about the kit, the pictures in the instructions could be a bit better, but once you cut the first one and understand how everything fits, it is not too bad.
One thing I would suggest is that you fit the liners in the car BEFORE you do any bonding or glassing for the inserts.
The carpet fitment was good, better than I originally thought it would fit.
I have one or two more customers cars to do but wanted to do mine first. I know there have been some discussions about these on here, thought some pictures would help. No pictures with the liners in place.
There are also some fiberglass skills and based knowledge of panel bonding as well as a gun for the bonding material. Of course a rivet gun was required as well.
I have a set of black powdercoated factory Z wheels with a machined lip I am having widened to 12" and will run a 345 MH drag radial on them.
More pictures of my car to come...

It's amazing on how thin the panels are - it's no wonder why we get so much road and exhaust noise Thanks for the pics !
Thanks,matt

The front part of the carpet against the wheel wells will require some modification, I am not going to do anything with that until I get my roll bar in.
The only other trimming I did was for the LPE battery relocation kit, if you guys are considering relocating your battery to the back I would highly recommend that kit, it is very nice.
On the surface these two kits are expensive, but they are both very well thought out and I think made the job much easier than fabricating the stuff yourself.

Thanks Nick,
I have already relocated my batterty to the back, had to make room for my new intercooler tank. I want to do the tub job, just so many projects to do first!
Great job.

Nick, it looks like we have very similar setups I am curious how those 345's look and fit on the car when you're done. I want them on mine, but am a bit concerned with the tire height and the possibility of rubbing. If you don't mind, I would like to follow up with you on the fitment after you get a chance to roll around with the car.

Good job Nick. I am surprised that you did not do this a long time ago. I am sure the kit helps, but it is not that bad from scratch. One tip is to use epoxy based fiberglass resin instead of poly-based. The epoxy is stronger, bonds better and is easier to work with. BTW do not do this in a closed garage.
