Virgina Speed 438" Turbocharged LSx Progress
After taking 10 months to rebuild our 438" LSx with some of the best parts available we finally got back to the track for some racing this year. The engine:
Virginia Speed Built 438" LSx built for turbo
Sonny Bryant Crank/GRP aluminum Rods
JE Pistons
ETP LS7 heads
Marcella Sheetmetal Intake
Precision 106mm turbo
The engine will make NORTH of 2000hp. So we went out friday for Outlaw Drag radial and a couple of the local Corvette forum members were there. The class usually runs 4.9s - 5.1s in the 1/8 mile @ 150-156mph on drag radials @ 3300lbs. We made 3 hits for qualifying and got it from a 5.31 to a 5.21. Our first round of eliminations we got a win light with a 5.1 @ 150 pedaling. Semi finals we drove around a 632" BBC with 3 stages with a 5.01 @ 151. We won in the finals with a 4.97 @ 151. The engine has a TON left in it, we don't have any power in the car until about 3 seconds into the run and we're still soft on the tuneup. The LSx is definitely a contender with the big inch nitrous motors. We'll have some pics up later.

Brian,
Hey man, how are things in delaware? We hope the main girdle + new crankshaft fixed the problem. Give me a buzz when you get a chance....I think we've already got another in the oven.
