This project is snowballing fast! The 408 shortblock is now for sale. Waiting for an LSX. We got the radiator and fans a few days ago. Thanks TPE.

Well, kept getting lowball offers on the 408 so I decided to keep it. No sense in being down for another 8 weeks for a new shortblock AND being stuck with the old one.

We're waiting on blower parts and I need to call a man about a transmission.

Thanks for the update!
Have fun with the 408.....it'll be stupid power, but if ever, it's a reason to pull it, O-ring and giver some more.

I hear ya. I would have o-ringed this one but didn't plan on pushing it that hard orginally. I also don't want to do that to my 6 bolt heads yet. It can wait until I do another shortblock one of these days.

ECS, it was nice talking to you today and I look forward to doing some business.

9-25-2009 Update:

Got my estimate for the custom 12-rib F1-R kit today and we're waiting on a company to make the custom Kevlar belt.

Have an appointment with a Tech 2 to delete the selective ride control soon and we'll find out what the motor puts to the rollers N/A.

After that it's coming out and going to the machine shop for 1/2" head studs. Fuel system is being done while the drivetrain is out.

Waiting on the bill for the rest of the drivetrain from ECS and this thing will be bulletproofed.

I'm hunting for the perfect torque convertor and driveshaft now to complete the drivetrain.

Progress!

Nope. I couldn't justify that kind of cheese for what I use the car for.

Short cruises and the occasional longer cruise.
Goal is 9s on 345 MT drag radials. 8s on slicks.

I'm going with ECS' powerglide setup. Much easier on the wallet and easier install.

Mike, Doug, Chris @ ECS,

Thanks a million for answering my many questions, adjusting my estimate ten times, and being patient with my dropped satellite phone/sandstorm calls. Your customer service is spot on. I'll have Brett at XP give you guys a shout about the business.

Great talking to you all today.

The game just changed. Entirely. ECS and Champion are doing way too well with the blowers so I had to be different. More different than the F1-R.

TWIN TC76 turbos should be neat off the transbrake!

Werd. I went and did a bad thing.

On a side note: If anyone needs a nearly new set of ARH 1 7/8"s headers with jet-hot extreme coating and/or a BRAND NEW ECS intercooler for their set-up pm me and I will cut you a deal.

Very nice build but it doesn't really seem you are hurting for cheese, and that PG is going to make it a lot less all-round car, IMO. Step up to the big OD and you won't regret it ever.

Selling without the X-pipe and the jet-hot extreme coating was $300 option. $1100 shipped.

Thanks man but I'm not spending that kind of money on a transmission and having to cut stuff and change out my rear cradle too. It's just too much when I can bolt in a Glide and be completely satisfied for my goals.
