From what I researched and know 6-8lbs and about 500hp is safe...anything above that is risky.

I'm sure others will chime in on this...

There are other historical threads about this topic as well.

Numbers in my SIG below. I have been been above 600rwhp for almost two years, although NOT DD. Results not typical, just a good example of a well thought out combo with a safe tune, meth, & Torco and lotsa luck ...FactoryRaceCar & Mike 04 have similar numbers as well. I'm certainly not advising pushing a factory bottom this hard, just my $.02 of some examples I know. There are some others making even more power but I cannot recall their Forum Names. Good Luck if you decide to get hooked on FI

I wouldn't go over 550rwhp. It seems to be a very safe number. About 8 or 9 lbs of boost max on a bone stock ls1.

I ran 10 to 12 LBS for a few years, I ran 14 to 15 the last half of the year, The motor ran flawless, I do have a great tuner tho, (FLP) That put a good tune that was safe. Just remember you are only one tank of gas away from a new Motor no matter what you do, Good luck

I ran 530 rwhp with 10lbs of boost for 1 1/2 years. Now I've been running 600rwhp for the last 6 months (added a cam).

A lot is in the tune.

Yeah I wish he didn't say that! I've seen 12psi on my stock LS6 that made 707 rwhp uncorrected. I wonder what it would make with 15...

I'm running 7.6 PSI and making 591 RWHP! see the sig!

They can handle a safe 8 PSI of B@@ST but you should run meth as a precaution to keep temps down and fuel at a high octane!

Thanks,Matt

11 lbs on my LS6 block. I believe you can run slightly more boost on LS1's due to the lower CR.

All stock inside, 21 Century turbo heads and cam, With the good springs and push rods, I do have Meth to, The car made 617 HP at the wheels with an auto, Car still runs awsome thanks to FLP, They have it set up with a great tune and plenty of fuel, Good luck.

Its all in the TUNE!!! Theres a lot of people who run 550rwhp no problems and some even around 650 which is defently pushing things but if you really want to be safe stay around 550 and you should be fine as long as you get a good tuner

I ran 11lbs last season, all seasopn, at the end The restrictor plate was removed and it hit 13-13.5, only thing done inside was the valve springs and cam, heads have never been off...Bone stock bottom end! 595/495 at 10lbs.

Time is very different then miles.....

Many people are pushing it with 12-14lb's.... agreed that the tune has alot do to with it, but lets see how many MILES people have on their setups...

I forget the guy's name, but there was a silver coupe pushing ~700rwhp on the stock block and claimed for 2 years... I later found out that he only had 4k on the boost level... Impressive, but 4k over 2 years is not too much of an accurate assessment of the setup? I dont believe he ever claimed that it was "safe", but i think alot of folks see 2 years and just assume it is a reliable setup.

I have been running 7-8lbs, and see 9-10 in the winter.. Have 50+k on the setup. I am only pushing the motor to 6k with a 3.85 pulley. I would like to put a restrictor plate on and have the limiter raised to 6500, but would also like to put a cam in also.
