I think it has much to do with tune and not detonating. My heads haven't lifted when I pushed it to 18#..but having a 427cid and that much boost I believe creates a lot more cylinder pressure.

Definitely not a slouch! 7psi to make 659rw is pretty damn efficient and you at least know it isn't getting in the way of NA power. Think about it... you could run stock internals at that boost pressure forever, and have more than enough for the street.

I'm happy where your at at 7 (10#'s for me).

Are you really getting one Kevin? I'm curious to see in stock form what HP the car (drivetrain) can handle!! Hope you have your deposit in!

I don't think the stock internals of a 347 would take that kind of HP long. Maybe a stock 427 could but the small block 347's seem to safely hold around 550-600 RWHP before something lets go.

I'm am definetly interested in one...probably won't be first on the block to have one...but it has been a while since a new car has got my attention, not only do I like the way the car looks but the internal gadgetry looks very cool...I also want to complete my single turbo project on my Camaro first but maybe I will reprioritize that.

I wasn't sure, just wanted to clarrify.

It seems HP levels are more limiting than boost levels. I also thing the LS6 (Z06) motors hold together a little better than the LS1's due to the improved block breathing and lighter valve train.

Cool, and if they're anything like the other generations 450 will be nothing!! Up the boost and go!! Those motors have always been built like monsters! I'm sure once they are released there will be many who learn by trial and error what the stock morors/turbos/drivelines can handle. It just sucks it's not a true manual, I love having the clutch and shifting!
But Nick, don't worry, ti will be no match for you, even if it does trap 149!

Don't you mean 600 4whp easy!!

You think that much?? Think the rest of the driveline will handle it?

Dan ,

I read it was detuned from 600 to 480...im sure you will have to upgrade some parts(like on a vette)..but once you do.. it will be a beast.
one thing about cars from the factory with turbos ,, is the tuneers out there will make more boost from stock turbos and PCM tune.
