Default ~550whp DD street tires. what do you recommend?

What are you guys with between 500-600whp running tire-wise. My car may see the track a few times a year, but its mostly for daily driving and something i could use in the wet if needed.

I run Pilot Sports (275/35/18&335/30/18) on my Vette. I am 544RWHP and these work awesome for me. To be honest, when getting on it, they could have a little more traction but they are a great all around tire, and that is what ET Streets are for . I drive it in the rain as well and the tires work fine, of course if you get on it, it will still not have traction with that kind of power.

295/35 NITTO Drag Radials...for your type driving. Good riding DRs & safe on wet roads too... should get 10 to 15K miles tread life...unless you do burn-outs often...not the best hooking tire at the Drag Strip (not the worst either)........Discount Tire Direct had the best$$ on these for me...

I have Nitto NT555RII. I like these tires for traction on dry roads, compared to the Goodyear F1's that came with the Z06. However these tires are dangerous on wet roads, at any power level.

I run the same size out back and a 265 up front and they are good street tires IMO. They last way longer then my last few sets of streets, Kuhmo V700s. They are ok and I got caught in the rain yesterday, and, IMO, they are almost better in the rain then the dry

Bluff, they are safe street tires, but even when I um get into it not at the track, 1-3 has issues with my NA 460 RWHP... Be careful fellas

Same setup on 9.5" front and 12" rear rims.

Wet traction is decent, dry is non-existent with 580 rwt at 2k..soon, i don't know...

Nick,

the only way you wil hook on the street with that kind of power is if you are pulling a semi truck or drop your gear ratio to .073
im having issues with 700 trq..1000 no way

295 BFG KD and they are excellent in the rain. Don't know why people buy the KDW so much. I have used 10 different tire setups from Nitto 555R, R2, NT01, GSD3, Kumho Ecsta, BFG DR, KDW2, and the KD is the best all around tire by a long shot on any of these IMO.

My BFG DR's (315) dead hooked 680rwtq on my 03 Cobra. Hoosier makes a real nice 315 DR but it is for a 17" wheel I think.

So you are saying the BFG KD hook better than nitto 555r drag radials?

I was getting sick of My Michelin Pilot Sports so I ran my HPDE Hoosier R compound for a little while till I got caught in the rain

For my type of driving, I love NT-01s but I still dont get any traction with them if I get on it
