I run the KDW's on my Daily Driver with ~530 rwhp.. If i did not put the miles on it that i do, i would probabiy look for a more aggresive tire. bang for the buck though, i think they handle great.

555R2 Stick much better than KDW's --#1 they come in a wider size (305) have way more contact patch than KdW because of tread design-- KDW's have more grooves in them than and old 33 rpm viynl record and 555r2 have a much softer compound(look at the tread wear rating- IMHO It is the stickiest tire with some wet weater protection albeit very little

For those who are running the Nitto's 555R, 555Rll how bad is the quality of ride of tire noise? I'm leaning toward either one of these tires. I'm replacing the run flats and would hate to end up with a set that make more noise then those just for the sack of traction.

Not bad, I think they are probably a bit better straightline than the PS2, the Invo is noticeably quieter. It seems like the sidewall has a bit more flex in it than the PS2 but for almost half the price they are a DEFINITE bargain in the 305/30/19

I've got the identical dilemma as you. I've done some extensive studying on a handful of high performance tires. The Nitto's seem to be the best for what they cost, but I can't seem to get any one to confirm the type of ride that it give the Vette. Noise, Quality of ride and so on. Let me know if you end up pulling the trigger on any of these tires. How do you like the Toyo that you have on your vehicle now?

I plan on buying them again when need unless something new comes along.

I was worried about mixing the the RII front with R back. I have heard several people running that set up since then. I might switch up the rear to the R next time.

noise - cant tell the diffrence at all from the goodyears that came on the car (sound normal to me)
traction is awesome up until 600rwhp (also temp outside is a BIG factor)
when its hot outside the car can hook real good in the winter the tires struggle , but then again i have not heard of ANY tire hook in the winter.
now handling is noticable taking a turn you can feel the back wobble (not as bad as BFG's DR)
if you want straight line traction they will do they job with under 600 hp
what is your current HP?

Might want to investigate Falken Azenis RT 615's.
Available in 275/40R17 & 315/30R18's.
Alot of C5Z's are running on them ... and are claimed much better than the stock F1's ... and excellent in the wet.
I've seen a picture of them .... and they look aggressive. I think the tire rating is 200. Good for 8-10K miles ... and still very good for AutoX when almost bald. Set of 4 goes for 8-900 $ range.

I'm with the Nitto guys. I run the R2's in the front, 295/30/18 DR's in the rear. The DR's seem to be a stickier rubber, not a softer sidewall, which I prefer. Had them up to 140mph on the highway and no sloppiness or drift, important to me as I want handling with my straight line. I have 505rwhp, the Nittos will spin all first unless really heated up, stick pretty much most of second again if well warmed.
I just received my NT01's, as soon as it stops raining here I can give a comparo on the two. My next step when $$$ permits is mini tubs, bumping up to the Nitto 335/30/18 DR, and a side of more HP.
