Default Can you use your AC with intercooler installed?

I finally got my 98's AC fixed. The problem I have now is when I use my AC, the car starts to overheat. I'm told the car's intercooler is blocking air that should be going to the radiator. The radiator has been upgraded to a LG Motorsports high capacity aluminum radiator. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?
My fricken' Talon TsiAWD does the same thing too since I had a larger intercooler installed. It's been close to 100 degrees and it sux not having the option to use the AC.

Most people I know are able to run theirs without issue. Need to know more about your setup. What kit/intercooler, fans, motor, water pump, cam etc. Many things can cause your problem.

Plus have you looked at cleaning or see if you have trash that has blown up into or between the intercooler and the radiator. Man you can get a ton of junk in there in a short time.. Robert

With that radiator and what you have said here something is wrong for sure. Are you sure both fans or working and coming on you should have them coming on as soon as motor starts up in this hot weather are at least by 180 deg... So check out your fans if you dont have no trash are leaves plastic bags or paper. You will have to get under the car and look from the bottom and up to the top of your RADIATOR to check for the trash... I do mine about ever 6 months and it is un real the crap Mine gets in up at the top between the two.. Robert

I jacked-up the Vette. The radiator is clean (what I could see), the oil radiator was clean, and the intercooler is clean. What I did find is the driver's side skid plate bar is pushed back. The bar in the front is still bolted on but the weld is broke. The bar in the rear is twisted and torn. I don't think that fixing the skid plate bar will solve my heat issue but it is definitely a problem I need to fix. I already have the skid plate stiffners installed and the skid plate wheels ready to install.
I believe the fans are stock and are working correctly. The front air diffuser is not there. Not sure it can be either. I'll compare my 98 to my 02 to see if it can be done. I'm sure that would help but the car is okay without it as long as I don't use the AC.

Having the diffuser in place is important for sure. Making sure both fans are coming on with the proper polarity is important. You would fare better if you had Spal fans on the car. The tune can affect your temps too.

Just a side note, you might consider getting rid of that FAST intake before it cracks and ruins your day. You may have gotten away with running it, but it's the one time that you don't get away with running it that you'll remember

Just to add just because the radiator and condenser appear clean to the eye dosent mean they are. Especially on these cars. Also what are your temps web not running the AC?

I am with you here Bret on the diffuser. To the OP make sure you look up from the bottom where the condenser come to the top of the radiator. Last year in just a 6 month time frame I had a plastic bag and a ton of dead leaves in mine up at this spot of it.. Robert

Here is a picture of my 02's radiator last I cleaned it.

My 98 looks nothing like that. First there is the intercooler, then the oil radiator, then the radiator. There is very little space between them. Looks like I'm going to have to get creative to somehow install a diffuser.
