Default Battery charging or jump I/C Maggie?

It dawned on me that either of the above would be a real PIA away from a garage. How much hassle to remove the coolant reservoir, to jump or charge the battery, and then reinstall? What tools are required if/WHEN caught out on the hiway or in a parking lot?
