Default This guy claims his TT did 8.9 at 163..what kit?

This guy claims his TT vette runs the quater in 8.9 at 163. He has some 2 pictures on his cardomain site. But he doesnt say who the kit is or cubes or infact nothing about it. Wonder why people take the time to open the account but no info about it. The TT kit looks good. My guess is the kit is a Haltech or a PTK.
His website
One picture from it.

is that an exposed timing chain?
does not quite look like either the ptk or the hall system, in my humble opinion, same style, just slightly diff.

I agree. Looks like a Halltech kit. Not sure I believe the posted ET/MPH without any info on the car (such as cubes and driveline mods).

Its not even the 8.9 that bugs me its the mph and the pictures are of a motor thats not finished. We all know Jims kit is MAJOR power but even dougs car with around 1100rwhp 427ci once tuned is only going to be in the high 140's. I know turbos are different cause of the tq but 163...

Hmmm...

If the track was down hill...
and the wind at his back...
and he had 1000+rwhp...
and major suspension/driveline mods...
and some sticky, sticky tires...
and an ECS methanol injection kit (,

then he could DEFINITELY hit 163mph!

I can't see any C5 running 163 MPH with IRS.

Perhaps he was posting an estimate of high boost and race fuel.

There is a guy on here that has tubbed his car and added a Ford 9inch (or some other solid axle) with tons of pictures - essentailly turned his C5 into full blown Pro Street.

IRS be gone!!

It's not this guy but my point is that others have gone the full drag route. That's about the only way I can see him getting traction to get anywhere close to what he claims for ET/Trap

Maybe he was guessing at what it would do once he put the hood back on....better aerodynamics ya know. I guess the plumbig after the turbos would have to be connected as well though!

All kidding aside...who knows what his set up is. It's possible given the right set up.

If he does make 1100 rwhp and only traps high 140's, something is seriously wrong. There have been 6 speed FRC/Z06's w/ 750 rwhp that trap 145. 1100 rwhp should be well over 150 if any of the power sees the pavement.

Seriously wrong???? Doug works for ECS and his car is an auto. Traction is an issue with IRS but ECS will get it right when he is done. His car untuned ran 135. Not sure but dont think he will hit 160's trap and ECS knows there stuff. There is a video of his car. Its serious power. He gets loose at the end of the track infact. As I said I know Jims kit is sick but wanted to see more pics of this guys car as well as maybe a time slip to back up the 163

Nice looking set up,
like Kumar said there is a big difference betwen an auto S/C and a six speed turbo. Turbo's generally mph higher than S/C's so who knows. Presently the six speed record is held by LPE at 9.4., thats alot to live up to. Although there is always someone faster out there.

OK,
A few people have said similar things, so anybody correct me if I'm wrong, BUT:
I remember reading that LPE ran a 'demo' run to show off their new (at the time) stage 3 TT setup. (maybe even at Cruise-in 3, but I wasn't there) If I am remembering correctly John made a pass with a 156 trap speed on pump gas.

If LPE will warantee a car putting up 15X mph, I wouldn't have a hard time believing somebody cranked a little closer to the edge and hit low 160's.

Does anybody else remember that? Or did I do too many drugs in my youth?
