Default DTE rear end brace

How hard is it to put on. Does the tranny need to be dropped or does the rear crossmember have to come off.

It can be done with most stuff in place. Jut remove the catback.
Not too hard but not much fun either. It is never fun when you can't see everything you are trying to bolt together. You have to feel a few things out.

It would be real easy if the tranny and diff were not in the car.

I agree. I put mine in a few weeks ago. Not the most joyous of tasks but it can be done in 4-8 hours depending on your tools and skill. The instructions say to drop the subframe but you don't need to (although it does help quite a bit).

It is easier to do the brace with the tranny out as there is not much room to work on the top bolts... but it can be done..

You can do it with just the catback removal assuming its a stick car.
Auto's are a different story.

I installed mine on a MN6 in about 4 hours on a lift. I removed the cat back and lowered the sub frame. Allow about a week for your hands to heal afterwards.

I am no stranger to busted knuckles working on this car. It is a 6 spd, I will just dropp the cross member and leave the tranny in. Thanks for the info...

We have only installed them on Autos and found its alot easier and faster to just drop the whole rearend/transmission.

It was a bit of a pain on the Mn6, so I would imagine you could only do it by dropping the whole thing on an auto...
