Fellas,

Can any of you please tell me which package is worth having?

I am so lost in deciding between the Z51 performance package or the Maganetic Ride package F55.

Lots of people here swear my the mag ride. I went with Z51 because I plan on owning this car for decades and thought that the potential for expensive magnetic replacement shocks wasn't worth it. Z51 was only about $400. Also must say that the Z51 feels great to all that have been in it (including the wife.)

Me too. The Z51 suspension is a great all around package, and the mag suspension scares me with the potential for high priced repairs.

I'm leaning heavy towards a Spiral Gray auto, with the performance rear axle and the Z51 suspension.

Depends on what you really plan on doing with the car. The Z51 will work better on a track where road conditions are pretty good. The F55 will win on regular roads where conditions aren't so good. In general, the F55 is better at keeping rubber on the ground when the car otherwise wants to be airborn.

I debated the same question. Assuming you are buying new, the choice may not be yours soon. There are zero F55s and very few Z51s left in the DFW area. The big forum vendors may soon be the only ones that have them.

I went with Z51 and haven't regreted it one minute.

I asked the same question awhile back and I went with the Z51 as everyone suggested. I regretted it because it road too hard on anything but the smoothest of roads. I wouln't even consider getting it again.

I think my car rides like a cadillac (maybe because Im coming from a camaro lol). Roads in Chicago suck, but its very comfortable with the Z51. I recommend it highly.

Just traded in a Z06 for an F55 coupe. Much more civilized on the highway and in town...plan to upgrade the power and sway bars, but for real world roads, I love the F55. If you plan on open tracking regularly, then the Z51 would be the way to go (or better yet...Z06)!

I have an 02 with ride control and it is not as good as the mag ride control which you can get....that being said, I added Z06 sways and love the balance between the highway ride and modest cornering. If you want to hammer on the car and have a lot of fun then get the stiffer suspension...for sure!

There was a thread yesterday about $900+ PER SHOCK, no warranty for mag ride! No thanks.

I bought an 04 Coupe with the f-55. True it is an expensive option ($1,700) My brother told me that it is state of the art technology, and other high performance cars are using it. He also said that I would be able to get a little more on resale. As for the ride, it's smooth when I want it and stiffer when I need it. My daily driver is an Acura TL, on the freeway I can't tell them appart, except for the smile on my face when I'm in the vette!
