475hp 1998 6spd Blk on Blk for sale or trade
I have a 1998 6 spd. blk on blk for sale or trade. Car was recently built by Cartek for $12k in 3/03 with only 700 miles put on the extensive work. Engine was completely rebuilt to their stage II specs. Car has stage II heads, cam, PCM programming and long tube headers. Car also has modified LS6 oil pump, intake and Blackwing air intake. The clutch was replaced with Cartek stage 7 clutch and fully upgraded hydraulics. Car still retains all factory emissions controls and has a corsa rear section exhaust. Currently running factory chromes on new rubber with just 2000 miles. Also I have a set of Iforged 19'&20" that can be put on the car as well. Other mods include Z06 front screens and Euro rear lights. Car has nice options for the year with dual power sport seats, dual zone climate, 12 disk cd changer, body side molding, dual tops and memory package. Car has never been raced or even timed at the track and has just 44k miles.
I am willing to trade for late model SUV (Tahoe, Escalade, 4 Runner etc) or possibly other cars of interest. If you are interested please email me at talwell@yahoo.com. Car is currently located in Staten Island NY. Title is available and on hand for immediate sale. Looking to sell in the range of $25k.

Have you had the car dyno'd for the HP rating?is that at the wheels? How is it on the street ? with that clutch?

Re: 475hp 1998 6spd Blk on Blk for sale or trade (legendzzz)
I dont have any more pics at the moment. The car was dyno'd when Cartek built it. 412rwhp and 398rwtq with full factory cats and emissions controls. With high flow cats and a crossover pipe you would probably see about 25 hp more to get it to 500fwhp (sae corrected 15% drivetrain loss).
The car runs and drives as it did from the factory. There is a small lump to the cam to let people know it is not the everyday stock vette. Also, if you were to blow past a viper or z06 they would then be aware that it is not stock. The rear section and long tube headers give it an excellent sound.
I have never installed the wheels on the car...they are sitting in the garage waiting to see their fate. When I return from franchise training I may take it down to get them installed.

With $12k in engine work I dont think I will be taking $18k anytime soon. You can find many cars on Ebay with about 80k+ miles on it probably with a title with history for that amount. This is a professionally built by Cartek low mileage clean 6spd car...I think that $25k is about fair market.

Not really interested in that BMW....it is a little older than I would consider for M3 technology. The newer ones are nice, the older did nothing for me.
I prefer to stick with a large SUV but also have a weak spot for 1969 Camaro and Z28s.

Opinions...is my asking price of $25k too high for this car with over $12k in upgrades? The car was professionally built by Cartek and only has 700 miles on the mods since last year. The car only has 44k on it and is in very good condition overall. The car is still 100% smog legal and pushes 412rwhp on all engine.
Thanks-

You just have to wait for the right buyer...
I think you're in the right area, especially if you're including the iforged wheels with it...
However, if you need to sell it, you may have to come to low 20's to entice a buyer that the mods don't mean that much to...

Talwell, I think your price is just fine. That is a nice car you got there. Like pace said, you just have to find the right buyer. Good luck and nice car.

My offer of $22k cash is still on the table. You could then sell your extra wheels for $3k to $4k and net $25k to $26k...
If not, here's a TTT for a sweet Vette.

You've only been a member for 5 months and I would guess you haven't followed the "C5 for sale" section for very long. I was in your boat trying to unload my C5 and from experience....this would be the LAST place I'd try to sell a C5! These guys want a car for nothing and have been spoiled with the glut of new '04's on dealer lots and the HUGE discounts they're offering. Unfortunately, the "Auto Trader" is also packed with used C5's. INMHO I think the local newspaper or even placing a "For Sale" sign in the window and parking the car in a (safe) high traffic area. This arena is only going to p'ss you off and insult you with unrealistic lowball offers (e.g. $18K). Good luck!

BTW, the iforged wheels are not included in the price. The price quoted is as you see the car. I have them here and will give a buyer an excellent price on them. If anyone is interested in just the wheels, I am looking to get $3750 for them plus shipping.

Well since you asked, I will ad my $.02.
I think the price is fair. Not great but fair.
I have considering looking at your car, but I don't want to spend more than $22k and I have heard way too many horror stories about Cartek.
Out of the research I have done on Cartek, it is almost 50/50 if you are getting a solid job done. I just don't have the money or patience to take the gamble and then have ECS repair what should be a VERY good engine for $12k.
Again, my $.02. If you feel this is detrimental to the sale of you car, I will gladly edit it.

This is a steal folks! A potential low 11sec daily driver for $25,000 is the deal of the century. I think someone should jump on this one while it's still available. I have a similar Cartek package and I can tell you it's a beast, and as drivable as a stock Vette, I love it. If I didn't already have one of my own I'd be all over this. It cost me nearly $60k to build a similar car to this!
Good luck!
