Default Bought a Viper, so my 2001 Z06 must go. $33,950

You can see photos of it here: http://www.gigatechsoftware.com/z06

Yep, After 3 Vettes, I have decided to try a Viper out for a change and it will be delivered to me next week.

Beautiful 2001 Z06 with 32K miles. RED with BLACK interior.
Has a Haltech Intake system and B&M Ripper Shifter. I have brand new Z06 brake pads and stainless steel lines that just came in that I have not yet put on the car. I have the original parts as well as a car cover.

Car is warrantied until 36K miles.

I'm going to put it in the Auto Trader for $34,950 as soon as I get back from Vacation, but will discount it $1,000 to $33,950 to anybody here in the forum. I've been offered slightly less on a trade in on a new BMW for my girl, so I may go that route if I don't have any bites from the auto trader. I won't sell it for less until after my auto trader ad has run. Local Z06's are going for much more than this in my area. so I expect it to sell.

You can see photos of it here:
http://www.gigatechsoftware.com/z06

Car is located in San Diego, Ca.

I love this car, but I love the looks of the viper even better. I do have to say that the Viper braking system is laughable, though! I thought something was wrong with the both cars I test drove. We corvette owners have it good with our stock braking system. I'm willing to trade off looks for brakes, though, at least for now.

I know of a 2000 GTS with ACR, 86K sticker, 12K miles, Black with silver stripes. 54K. Is your deal better?

The new Vipers are decent daily drivers. The previous generation was another story. My buddy stores his 2000 ACR for shows, cruises but bought a 03 Z06 to drive the **** out of. He said at 140 the Viper is a two hander but the Z is smooth and comfortable. Nothing makes a statement like a Viper though :seeya

Funny story, but true. I had my Z06 parked next to a viper one day when we were talking about our cars. There were a lot of people that walked by. In the 30 mins or so that we were there talking, I heard probably a dozen or so people make comments or stop and look at the cars --- er, I mean car. Yep, not a single comment about the Vette. All of them were about the viper. Even had a couple girls who wanted a RIDE in the car and wanted to know who the owner was.

Vette's are just too common for my taste. I love the way they look when they are by themselves. But next to a viper, they look so plain. Other than looks though and the horsepower, I would take my vette for everything else (it brakes better, it has all the modern creature comforts, the seats are waaay comfortable, power everything, handling, etc.) I'm making the buy strictly on the fact that I will have a roadster that just looks bitchin', and being in San Diego, I can drive it almost year around, when I want.

A step down to a viper? Perhaps in most things. A step up in looks (my opinion) and the stares and admiration you will get driving it around.

Decide if you are buying or selling? Not sure by your comments. Otherwise, I guess the Corvetteforum may witness its first 2001 Z06 sell for under $30K!

Me liking the looks of the viper over the vette should have no bearing on somebody else wanting to pick up a beautiful Z06. I know plenty of people who like the clean lines of the vette over those of a viper. I'm just not one of them.

My Z06 is awesome (you've seen the pics.) My girl today told me not to get rid of it and keep it. But that would mean I would have the vette, viper, truck, motorcycle and Nissan350Z. This doesn't include her BMW which she picks up this month. Too many vehicles!

Is it SRT/10? I like the agressive look of a viper!

Wow, such hostility. Well, them being ugly is your opinion. My opinion -- I like them and they look better. And I already mentioned that the car setup wasn't as nice as my Z06 -- this is purely a move based on looks. And for what it is worth, it rides fine for me -- not like a brick. I am not getting a 2003 (which has the very newest look.) I like the old roadster look with the side pipes -- so bitchen looking.

Why do some forum members criticize others for buying something other than a vette????? Some people just like fast cars, whether its a vette, viper, porsche, etc...does it make them wrong? I for one love cars period. I think the guy is posting his car for sale not approval for buying another.

Give the guy a break.

just sell your vette and go away.

mostly just teasing the guy!!!

but what is this?

i just think its crap how many people think its stepping up by trading their vette for a viper!!!

it kinda sounds like vette bashing !!!

the viper is a great car overall, i loved driving my friends around, but...

the viper was built with one pourpose only, to beat stock vettes.

Default Re: Bought a Viper, so my 2001 Z06 must go. $33,950 (corvette-sickness)

my point is this.

this is a forum for corvettes, and there are a lot of things you can do to an aluminum ls1 to make it way faster than a stock viper, and yes you can mod out a viper v10 but every road and track or car and driver ive read say that the vette feels better on corners at high speeds!

you gain a little wind resistance with all the wacky curves on a viper (even though it does look cool)

sorry for trying to defend americas first sports car!

i have been a corvette lover since the first day i laid eyes on one!
and id rather take the viper money (lets remember its almost twice as much as a vette) buy a new zo6 and put the rest of the money under the hood and crank out the 6 or 700 hp you know you could get out of it!!!

and then go out and blow the doors off all the non "real" car rich kids vipers,
and lets not forget the rice burnin fast and furious dorks, that go around braggin about their n.o.s. ed out annoying muffler havin penny racers beating stock vettes and vipers!

i dont street race and im mostly just playin around to get yall riled up :lolg:

but i cant stand people calling the vette a poor mans viper.

the vette is the best bang for the buck on the market, and its potential is limitless!!!

and unless im on the wrong forum, id say there are some people here who agree!

this is a place for people who are pasionate about vettes to come and talk and help each other buy sell and trade all things corvette.
  :flag

That's great. Thanks for your totally unsolicited comments.

Now, back to the point of this thread -- to sell a Z06. If there are any more comments or posts that are not directly related to the Z06 for sale, point loss will follow. :smash:

The body lines seem to be off. If the gap spaces have become that large and irregular, I'm pretty sure the next car I buy would be a viper too. Car still looks great. Has it been wrecked?
