Default [md] FS 2001 Lpe 427 z06 $20k

Once again I'm considering selling my c5z, last time I couldn't bear to part with it and changed my mind, but I've been bitten by the rx7 bug again and I'm seriously looking for an ls swapped fd this spring.

Drivetrain-
72k on the car, about 60k on the Lpe 427.
Tick performance stage 2 transmission rebuild, textralia oz700 clutch, tick adjustable slave and remote bleeder
1 3/4 long tubes, Xpipe, borla straights

Exterior-
Stock silver, black painted roof. Overall very good condition, some chips and light scratches (I'm a painter, so it drives me nuts, but probably won't be noticeable to you at all)

Interior-
Factory mod red, perforated leather shift and brake boots, c6z shifter with a hurst ball ****, vette tray and partition installed as well. Climate display is very dim (easily fixed)

Asking $20k for the car, can be viewed on weekends or during the week with notice (I work nights during the week) in the Baltimore area.

I can be contacted here or by email (wiedelkenny@gmail.com), and by cell in the evenings after 5pm or mornings before 11am (4437107747, texts are fine as well, and I'm up all night)

Thanks for looking
Ken

I took the car to a track rental at MIR two years ago, with bald 295's at the time I managed 12.7 @ 118 with a 2.7 60ft, blowing the tires off 1st-3rd... It REALLY needs drag radials if you want to get a respectable 1/4 time ... I'm no drag racer, I'd expect someone with more experience would see low 11's on a drag radial easily.

As for whp, I'll have to find and post the dyno sheet, but it did 432whp and 460lbft on a dynojet when I had it tuned

I have some interior pics I will post from my home computer later today as they have been requested by a few members

Thanks again
Ken

Bump for a new week, lots of out of state interest and tire kickers. I'm going to leave the car for sale for another two weeks and if it doesn't sell I'm dropping it off at race proven for a more agressive motor build!

Dont do it man. I use to love my FD with the rotary in it, though it did make 630hp through a GT4094R on 24psi. I dreamed of LS swapping it and I loved my buddies LS2 FD even more than mine. Now that i have my Z06 i get back in the FD and I wonder why i loved it so much. Keep the Z06 man.

That's valuable insight, I hadn't yet heard from an individual who had owned both cars!

The FD had its good points, but the good points of the Z06 severely outweigh it. Rotary or LSx doesnt matter i'd still take my Z any day over another FD.

Still for sale, last week before I decide to keep it! Have had lots of interest but no one has pulled the trigger yet. I found an ls2 powered miata locally that I'd really like to own!

Any insight?

No offense taken! Basically, in 2002 when the car was built the package was rated at 500hp (at the motor).... even with the cnc work on the heads, the small cam and older port work handicap the car a bit in peak hp numbers. If you were to add an uofated head and cam package, you would see well over 500whp.

What you get with my car, that you won't see with another c5 in the 430whp range is all that torque and a very flat tq curve over 400ftlbs from 2000rpms all the way to redline

I've debated updating the heads and cam on the car in the quest for 500+whp... but I think it would be more cost effective to throw a blower or turbo setup on the forged motor and exceed that number considerably with great driveability. Right now it idles like stock, no bucking from an agressive cam or driveability issues that can arise from a max effort na build... and it meets or exceeds the performance of a stock c6z in acceleration at half the cost of an early c6z

Thanks for the feedback!
Ken
