All I want for XMAS is a Z06.......
Electron blue or red....bone stock or minor mods, in New England.
For a reasonable price...is that too much to ask

They definitely seem way over priced lately. Last winter there was a mint 2004 TR Zo6 with 15000 miles that sold for 25000. It also had Bullet exhaust and the owner was throwing in a brand new A&A supercharger still in the box. $25000 was a fair price, unlike the prices on here lately. Once the C7's come out, C5 Z's are going to plunge just like the C4's did after the C6's came out.

Have U looked at usedcorvettesforsale.com, autotrader and cars.com?
I would not restrict yourself to New England on a good find, esp price wise. Just fly in & drive home. Use fly.com for cheapy tickets. That's what my last buyer did from NJ and it's quick.
There's a couple of them right here on the forum. Both in KY. 04 TR/mod 15K miles @ asking price 26.9 by Larkin86 and Elic has a 04 Z16 a little higher at around 29 but only 5K miles. Z16 is very close to your color and possibly the C5 Z06 car of choice for most people. The TR/mod does not mean there's a mod. It relates to the 2-tone red/blk interior which I had on a 03Z. The TR guy is losing his job in KY.
I drove back a Vette from Md in Jan some yrs ago and it was a blast. Drove another back a couple weeks ago from Detroit and same same. A great way to bond with your car right off the bat.
GLWP and let us know what you end up with.

I'm in Quincy, MA and mine is for sale. 2002 Torch Red with Mod Red Interior. I keep the display on oil temp, so I don't know if it has rolled over 40k yet, but it's right around there. All it has are tinted windows, stainless steel brake lines, and lowered about 5/8". Was a Florida car until I bought it last year and garaged it in VA, and just moved up here last spring and it is sitting in the garage. Just had a brand new Mcleod RST clutch installed by Slowhawk Performance in Bridgewater. Oil change in June, new Amsoil Tranny fluid July 2011. Asking $23,000, pretty firm after paying $2k for the clutch a couple months ago.

that 2001z listed down in FL for 17.9 with 40k miles is one of the first fair listings i've seen this winter. similar cars sold last summer on ebay for 16.5-17k
nother year has went by and the c7 is out in a few weeks. chat with the guy and see what he's willing to take

Just an update.
The red 2002 Z06 just needed a little more than I wanted to do to make it mint. Great kid, great car, just not for me.
The 2002 electron blue Z06 with 29k was mint, but they would not come down under $25.500.00. Is that too much for that car ?
And a mint yellow 2002 Z06 looked great but had been in an accident as far as I could tell. There were no vin stickers inside the drivers door. I've never seen a car without them that hadn't been in an accident
Thoughts ?

i would think this spring/summer should be much better shopping. this winter has been one of the worst markets i've seen in years. there is simply very little supply at the moment
many sellers believe that winter is the worst time to sell a vette. oddly this year it would be the ideal time. no one else is listing
there's a seller in my area trying to sell a 33k mile 2002 z06 for 20k, ad has been up off and on for over a year. price even changes from time to time. i don't think many of these cars honestly sell. most on ebay all have reserves that don't get met and guys shill bid to drive the price up on their listings in order to make it appear like the car is worth more than it really is.
last c5z that i actually know sold was a 62k mile very clean, garaged, clean carfax 2002 car and it traded hands at 16.5k
watch craigslist daily, same with autotrader. sooner or later you'll find a deal. do keep in mind that a lot of good deals don't last more than 2 weeks before selling.

Update to my search today. I pulled the trigger on an '02 Z06 with 29k miles on it. Electron blue/black. It snowed here the other day and the dealer came down just a little more to sweeten the deal, maybe he didn't want it for the Winter. The car is a solid 9 out of 10. I'm very happy .
I let my Son drive it home, {he has an '02 electron blue 6 speed coupe} and he was amazed at the difference in power. These cars must like the cold air because I couldn't get the thing to hook up on a roll at 3000 rpm's...just wheel spin Pics to come this weekend.
I can't imagine what a C6 Z06 feels like

I think I did just okay on price....Especially since I have a warranty.
$24.900.00 out the door. There is an 8k mile '02 Z06 in New York, but I think he's in the high $20's, and I just couldn't do that at this time.
Good Luck in your search,
Mark
