WTB C5 What to look for / stay away from
Just sold the 1991 vert. Looking for a 3 pedal car. The earlier C5's are quite attractive on the price side. Any advice? I need to keep the price under 15K. (The C4 didn't bring quite what I had hoped for).
Thanks,
Stu.

FWIW, All C-5 are awesome...
However.
The earlier models have parts that are hard to find, should you need a replacement part. Specifically the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). The 97-2000 models are unavailable from dealers and it seems no one has figured out how to fix bad ones. thus the only supply line (at this time) is from a salvage car. Several other electronic parts such as TPMS and key fobs are much costlier on those model years too. The basic drive line, interior ,etc, parts are still fairly easy to find for all model years of the C-5.

2001 up have less problems, although many of the same problems as the earlier ones. The ECBM problem on the 2001 up can at least be fixed (about$60). The newest you can afford is a good rule of thumb.
