Alright, g/l with the sale. not sure how giving out the vin would hurt anything. I've done it will all my cars in the past when you post on autotrader or sites usually people post the vin. what the vin will give me is all the info about the car and let me run a carfax which lets me check the history and if the car has been in any accidents...
You have no profile on this forum. We do not know who you are or where you are from.Too many scammers out there.Thanx for inqurering though.
I posted this here because I am obviously a real person and very curious on how I could scam you if I had the vin number to your car. You do realize on auto trader and many forums including this one usually require you to post a vin number or ask that you do.

I'm asking for the VIN number so I can run a carfax report on it. I'm in the market for buying a c5 z06. If anything the only thing that seems sketchy to me is the fact that you woun't give up the vin number so I can run the carfax.

If you want my e-mail, phone number, or would like to give me your phone number so I can call you and ask you for the vin number that would be great. I don't see how you giving me the vin number over the phone, text, email, or privite message, or even for that matter in a thread could harm you.

thanks,
chris

I will not give VIN# to any one who does'nt have a name or profile and trys to bully me into giving that out. There are no forum rules that says you have to give VINs out.Posting private messages in forums is just totally crude .I guess every forum has to have a bully.IMHO.

Instead of posting in on here why dont you guys get in contact via phone and exchance that info there... I can understand why soemeone wouldnt want to put it out on the web like that because all you need is one guy to see that, find someone at a GM dealer who can cut your key and and boom your cars gone lol... Oh well....

It never got that far to contact by phone. He started calling the whole thing sketchy because I wouldn't post the vin.to some one that has no profile ,42posts in 2yrs. and telling me about his checking account.Exactly the reason I wouldn't give it away because of being able to get a key cut.Thats the way I got my key when I lost it was the VIN#.

Last time I went to the dealer they needed my name and info to make a key. I guess I understand though if someone scammed someone and paid cash or gave a fake license. I didn't think of this at all. I guess I should be more careful when posting a car for sale now.
