I am curious, you spent all that money to make all those changes, but you didn't do anything with the exhaust. I have had 7 C-5's and was usually the first thing I did, either Corsa or Borla. Usually adds about another 10-15 HP, although they say 20-30. But I do like the car. Like you say it's different.

Hi Vetten,
Well, I guess I look at exhaust differently from most people. I feel that there is more performance to be gained with headers than with mufflers, and frankly, I think the stock GM mufflers offer some of the best flow to noise ratio available. I think a lot of people change mufflers because it's easy and changes the sound, but if you actually dyno your car before and after, I don't think you'd see a lot of difference in power until the accessory mufflers started to get significantly louder than stock.
As I've said to many people, "It's a date car, not a drag car". So I just don't consider a lot of extra noise to be a good thing. Hence, this car has ceramic headers installed but stock mufflers - when it was dyno tuned for the change, it added about 30 hp, but no noise. (!) Not a lot, but it actually has a lot more thrust between 2,500 - 5,000 rpm that is more noticeable than the top end power number. And the stock mufflers on this model seem to have a nice mellow note, and are certainly easy to change if you wanted.
Glad you like it - are you nearby central CT?
