Default Looking for '97 or '98 Fairway Green

Title says it all. Not looking for a particularly low mileage model but it does need to be clean and mechanically sound.

I'm in Central Florida and would travel to see and possibly purchase said vehicle.

If you have pics (even if you're not selling) please post them! I love to see this car.

Florida would be good for it (a nice home for it!)

Default About me

I'm new to this forum. I've never had a vette but I've been eyeing them wistfully for years. I'm at the point where I am not getting any better gas mileage on the minivan and the kids aren't so little any more. It's time to do this.

I remember many years ago seeing one in this color in New York City. I was not looking for a car, and not even a corvette, but it struck me how gorgeous this color was in this car. Only recently I began to search, realizing I haven't seen this color again. I never knew rare it was. I guess I had been imprinted with this image and the seed grew.

Sure, most people might not like the color, but I figure if the original purchaser could never get one of these without ordering it specifically with that color, there had to be some "love" there.

I'd love to find a pdf of the sales brochure for these two years (1997 and 1998) if anyone knows of it...

Thanks for reading.

I saw those. Up in Wisconsin. I think the prices are a bit, how should I say, above the curve.

I don't need a low mileage offering. I really just want one that has been cared for and that I can care for. Jeez, this sounds like a personal ad.

Regarding the green one (year 2000 model), that's not the color I am interested in. Polo green is common and boring to me (sorry, my opinion, I don't wish to offend any polo green vette owners). There was one in Ft. Myers of that color and reasonably priced, but again, not what I'm looking for.

Thanks again. Anyone know where I might find the sales brochures or other media relating to these model years?

Yes, that's a '94 C4, Polo Green. That's not the droid I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a '97 or '98 Fairway Green. A bit lighter green than that. Only ever made in those two years.

My wife asks why I don't just buy another color and have it repainted. I can't explain why not... any good arguments either way?

Default green or not ?

There is paint that mustangs have, it changes colors. I have not seen it up close, usually in my rear view mirror going from SMALL to SMALLER but you could look into it.

Although it didn't sell well, most people that I have run in to love the color. It's a great conversation starter and I get compliments all the time. I don't think in my 8 years of ownership that anyone has ever said they dislike the color. Like you I loved the color and flew down to Atlanta GA to pick mine up.

How did you find it? What would you suggest that could help me in my quest to obtain one?

You're not selling it, are you?

I find mine right here on the forum. It was owned by a waxer.

Not the right color...

Re: Illinois- hmm, not bad except location. I'm in FL. How would I go and inspect with a mechanic so far away...

It would be best somewhere in the S - SE of the country...

I might give the guy a call though, just to find out more.

Everything is always for sale. lol. I guess if someone had an enormous wad of cash sitting around, sure.

I swear, I was looking on "AllOfCraigs" for "1997 Corvette" and "1998 Corvette" and didn't catch this.

I was able to compile a spreadsheet of Mileage/Price data by clicking on CL adds one by one and charted them on a scatter graph. I then plotted a curve and this one is right on the curve. That's based on "Asking price" and I assume I can talk it down a little. I expect I'd have to talk it down a bit if I am travelling.

I wonder what I should do with the '03 Odyssey.

Default Financing

Any suggestions where to get financing on a '97 or '98? My main bank only offers loans for used cars up until 2004.
