You can get a nice C6 for that kind of money
Here's an 04 with 29,000 miles.....asking 23900 and not sold
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...pe=b&make=CHEV
I think you're looking at about 25K in this market.
And it will take a while to get even that.

only have 6k miles and that is a ton different than 30k miles. I spoke with a local dealer and he offered me 28k and if I was serious he would give me more.
This car is 100% perfect( brand new) and I think corvette's should have hidden headlights)
IMO.
thx
and that was with over 10k off a new vette. I just think I want a ZL1 camaro

Used car price's are rising !!!!!!!!!!
Right now is a great time to sell any car because new cars are too pricey. At Manheim (dealer only) auctions the prices are all over the lot and comes down to miles, years and condition. As far as vettes are concerned
the only ones there are, are ones coming off 3 yr lease's so it's hard to judge an 8 yr old vette.
At a vette only dealer's lot your car should go for bottomline 26/27 thou' but keep in mind that l'm sure he will give some kind of warranty and pay a sales commission.
His listing price should be a tad under $30,000 so the dealer that offered you that deal will probably give you a horse and pony show to get it down lower in the end.
But if he already has a buyer then everything else goes out the window.
Don't compare the C5's with the C6's because some people love the C5's more.
Good Luck

cherry z16s are struggling to crack 30k... doesn't sound like this vert can compete.
I'm just sayin'...

What does Carmax say its worth? Then add a couple of more k's by selling it yourself. I doubt an enthusiast would by it for over $30k and 6k miles may be more than a collector would want. No doubt it's a nice car but for that kind of money I'm in LS3 C6 range. Headlights always show but the performance is a significant step up. Just my 2 cents. If the Camaro is what you want it sounds like you should be dealing with that dealer who offered $28k for the car. Is waiting for a couple of k more worth it?

Safety Car
Just for your information I bought my 03 sprial gray 6 speed conv with 35K on it in jan, nice car but not perfect for 25.
( I just had 4 corvettes I only used in perfect conditions and I wanted a corvette I could drive without beating myself up over killing it's value)< tell you what I'm happier with this non perfect corvette than I was with a brand new GS conv.
If you had a Z with those miles you would pull that kind of money, I would take the 28 if it was a cash deal but not if he was showing you 28 on a new car.

Thanks for all the info. I do not have to sell but never seem to have much time to drive it and thought maybe a new camaro would be nice since I can put my kids in it with us.
But still love my vette. I ordered it and said I would NEVER sell it but never thought it would still only have 6k miles on it.

Buying a Vette
FYI; I made an offer on an '04 Convertible with 21k miles of 24,500; it was stock except for an exhaust system and it was chipped. No NAV, no Z51; just a base convertible. But he had put neon colored lights on the undercarriage and in all the vents. He refused my offer 'cause he wants $31,500. I made an offer of 39,500 on an '08 Convertible, stock but nicely optioned and 5000 miles. My offer was refused; he wanted 41K and would not budge. I would have come up some had he been alittle flexible. So why am I bothering you with my stories? As I'm sure you know as I do, Corvette people have this thing that their car is "valuable." More valuable than what Edmunds, NADA, KBB say they are worth. With the exception of KBB that makes the car seem worth more than it is since they don't base their evaluation on what is selling, each of us wants what the highest price is. Reality is: Do you want to sell? Did you get a reasonable offer from someone who has the cash? If you can answer yes to these questions, then I'm one potential buyer and not just a looker fantasizing. If you really still like your vette, don't waste your time trying to sell it 'cause you won't be satisfied with the offers.

Team Owner
Hey guys what do you think a 2000 Black FRC with 5,700 one owner miles is worth? The car has been garaged all its life and has no chips or damage of any kind. It is as new condition with the orginal tires. Just wanted some idea's on its worth. The only options are heads up display and chrome wheels.

And if you want a camaro, it's the same chevy dealer, so I don't understand why you didn't take the 28K trade towards the camaro??

Hard to Believe
When I was selling my BMW M3, I first went to a Chev dealer because I wanted to buy a Corvette. Thought I'd go for a 2011 Convertible. They offered me $30K + the tax advantage (6%) on the vette. They gladly took off the factory incentives (that they get anyway) and that was my price. Of course, if I came in "clean," I would have received another 6-7K off. So dealer offers of 28 for a C5 is just crazy. Reality: Dealers are in business to make money. They don't make money if they give you 28 and sell your car for 30 or 31. They want 6-8 thousand profit margin otherwise they go out of business.

Maybe it was wishful thinking. Dealers give on trade what they think they'll get at auction; miles don't matter; shine doesn't matter; **** owners don't matter. And if the trade price is high, they make it up on the other end. C'mon guys, none of else just fell off the turnip truck...
