Default F/S 2001 Z06 Black Track Car

*****SOLD*****

2001 Corvette Z06 (Black/Black - 62k miles)

The car is in great shape. Nearly perfect for the track. Runs great but it is a bit radical for the daily driver. Between the big cam and the on/off clutch, lets just say the best way to drive it, is to just give it the gas.

No dents, chips, scratches. One of a kind Black/Tan interior. Previous owner went out of his way to insulate this car and while he added a little weight, I can tell you the Alpine Stereo plus his insulation are a nice experience when you aren't tracking it.

Wow! that is one smoking deal. My setup is very similar and over the last several years I have sunk over $60K into it. Good luck with the sale.

Of course you have. You have been in everybody's right seat one time or the other.

Yeah, I knew it was a bait. I couldn't resist.

This car sale surely won't last too long. That really is a heck of a deal!!

A few pics from Barber (Jeff and Khoi passengers) here

http://downloads.dataxperts.net/2001Z06_Black/

Ya, I'm giving up the hobby.

Most fun thing I've ever done. I'm gonna let the cougar conquer me here. I suppose it comes down to value for life and those repetitive "Jesus Moments" Varkswo jokes about. I wish I could be like my buddy Fred and just have fun, but I know myself and I'm the type to keep pushing.

The car has standard size repro wheels on it now with PS/2 265/18 and 255/17 on it. It also comes with another set of rubber Kumho MX in the stock size rubber with really good tread.

I also have 6 18" track wheels (speedline/alcoa) with Hoosier R6, 2-295's and 4-315's. 60-80 tread left. Been holding off selling the extra stuff just in case nobody snaps up the car, maybe I'll get itchy and change my mind.

Fly in and drive home. That's what Ken did when he purchased the car from me.

Bought my 1st Z06 from Texas. Flew out, drove back 13 hours.

Bought this Z06 from Philli, Flew out, drove back 14 hours.

By the time you get home you will know every sound, squeek, lope, roar and have a good feel for the car. If anything needs to be looked at, it should rear its head within that amount of time.

Of course track is different than freeway cruisin. I've run this one at Hotlanta in the summer and Oil / Water temps run consistently within safe ranges. Oil only got up to 250ish in blistering heat. Water temps never in danger either. The Dewitts rad/oil cooler works very well.

Car is very tight and responsive. Where my first Z06 did not have the poly bushings and sway bars, the Vette would suffer push / plow problems. With the poly / sways it will turn in very sharp without that push/plow.

I'll also add that while that Textralia twin disc clutch is a pain in town due to the very small engage point, I've not had any problem missing gears with this setup. It works very well with RPM's behind it!

Very nice car. This reminds me of the 03 Z I had. Same cam and clutch After I sell my C6, I may look at getting back into something similar to this.

Default Seat Belts

The harness hookup has a brey krause adapter kit for the cross belt,so you can use both the stock seatbelts and the harness at the same time. If you put the adapter kit on the stock seat, like I currently have on the passenger seat, you can use both, but because the stock seats do not have the grommet holes cut in them, the upper belts have to wrap around the seat. Not nearly as good as when they go through the grommets directly above you shoulders and then hook to the Arizona Marine Harness Bar, but still better than not having the straps at all. That said, currently the passenger cannot wear a hans device, you would need to get another Corbeau seat if you want to accomodate your passenger that much. Aside from safety, you want to not move around in you seat so you can focus on driving. I thought having the harness on the stock passenger would lock them in enough to be happy, but I have had a complaint about the missing grommets from one passenger. I think I'm going to pull the Corbeau seat out as most people calling are interested in street driving more than tracking. I'll take a pic of it with the seat in for you. I can also tell you I'm 6'2" 260lbs and I get in there with a helmet all snug as a bug in a rug!

The Harness Bar also has a video camera mount that I usually screw my Aiptek into.

Default More Pics

Couldn't resist the good weather and took the Vette to work today. Had it washed at lunch time. Sure cleans up nice. Here are some pics. Lots of little thing you tend to forget you spent your money on if you look closely you'll see.

Steering Wheel Emblem
Rear Mirrored Corvette
Two Tone Steering Wheel
Carbon Fiber Kit
Racing Pedals
Stubby Antenna
Look close to in the Corbeau pic and you will see the silver Harness Adapter right next to where the regular seat belts attaches.
Lined Trunk
MGW Shifter with the perfect Delrin stubby ***.
Two tone interior add-ons everywhere.
Oil Catch can that you can't see. This engine really doesn't waste much oil.
LED Headlights.
That Alpine Deck with all the sound insulation really sounds nice.
