FS 4238 mile mint 01 MY Z06
This is a 2001 Z06 that's run a mere 4238 miles. The paint, interior, engine bay and wheels are all immaculate. The car is better than showroom new - literally, as I detail this car as no dealer would. I'm sure you may be cynical when reading the umpteenth "this car is perfect!" post, but I hate it as much as anyone else when you go see a car and it turns out to be nowhere near what it was claimed to be. This car is every bit as I describe it. Everyone I know considers me beyond **** when it comes to my cars.
I bought the car in July 2007 from another forum member. He had in turn purchased it from the original owner. Neither of us really drove the car more than for occasional fun cruises, as is evident by the mileage and condition. I'm selling the car because after two years, I'm looking for something else. I love the Z, but every few years I swap cars and the itch is starting.
I've owned various sportscars and all of them are complete garage queens. I don't do drag races, road racing or even highway pulls as I'm not a kid who feels the need to beat no his car to prove something; my pleasure is derived from owning what I feel are the cleanest and sexiest cars. The car has the very same tires now as when I bought it and as you can see in the pictures below, they still have the little rubber "whiskers" that new tires do.
The car has always been garage kept, is covered even inside the garage, has never seen rain and as mentioned it has never been raced while I own it (nor before that as far as I know). It's always on a battery tender in the garage. The undercarriage is mint and the coilovers are as clean as when it came out of the box. The car has been detailed both by myself and local professional detailers (www.detailscubed.com and www.scottwax.com) that some of you may recognize of autopia (a detailing forum) fame. The paint is smooth as a baby's skin and is covered permanently in carnauba wax.
While the car is a garage queen, I do take care to start her up and take her for a 90 minute highway cruise every 3-5 weeks.
Funny as it may seem, the car *is* modified fairly decently. The engine and drivetrain mods were purchased by the first owner. The second owner added the wheels, suspension and brakes. The mods are:
The engine work was done by forum sponsor Cartek to the amount of $10K. The wheels, brakes and coilovers were over $6500 excluding tires. Receipts available.
So this is probably the least abused, cleanest lightly modified C5 Vette around. I bought it because of its mileage and condition, not the mods.
As I'm an honest seller, I'll list all flaws with the car. There are a grand total of three:
Asking 35K, for what is essentially a new car. I realize you cannot get back the cost of modifications, but given the condition this is probably the one of the cleanest C5s out there and the price is still relatively close to stock Z6 for sale.

Funny as it may seem, the car *is* modified fairly decently. The engine and drivetrain mods were purchased by the first owner. The second owner added the wheels, suspension and brakes. The mods are:
- C6 Z06 rotors, calipers and pads (fills the rims up beautifully, no tiny discolored C5 brakes here)
- L.A.P.D. / Goodridge Stainless steel brake lines
- Pfadt Racing coilovers
- Iforged 20x11 and 19x10 wheels
- Falken FK452 305/25R20 and 275/30R19 tires
- 3.73 gears
- Heads
- Cams
- Under drive pulley
- Ported intake manifold
- Dual valve spring kit
- IRL timing chain
- Long tube headers
- Bigger H pipe
- Cartek hardened push rods
- Cometic head gaskets
- Carbon fiber RAM air intake system
- Carbon fiber engine cover
- Hurst short throw shifter w. titanium shift **** (sure beats the standard Z06 shifter which I'm sure everyone agrees is terrible)
- CAGS eliminated
- shorty antenna
- polished "Corvette" lettering inlays
- Black oil catch can
- Key hole caps
- Frame savers
- Rocker rail savers
The engine work was done by forum sponsor Cartek to the amount of $10K. The wheels, brakes and coilovers were over $6500 excluding tires. Receipts available.

As I'm an honest seller, I'll list all flaws with the car. There are a grand total of three:
- There is a 1/4" scratch on the rear left bumper. You'd have to know it's there to see it.
- The left connection to the rear defroster is loose. However, any windshield repair shop can reattach it. I just haven't gotten around to having it done.
- The car -like most all C5s do over time- suffers from the "service ABS" message when exceeding 65 mph. This is a known issue with C5s and there are many threads on this subject. E.g. here. It doesn't affect anything really and costs about 200$ to get it fixed at e.g. www.absfixer.com. Since I don't race this car in any way, I've haven't gotten around to replacing this either.
Asking 35K, for what is essentially a new car. I realize you cannot get back the cost of modifications, but given the condition this is probably the one of the cleanest C5s out there and the price is still relatively close to stock Z6 for sale.
