FS: 2002 EB LPE Maggie Convertible
Upgrade now and get a piece of NCM history in time for the Cruise-in!
I have and still do thoroughly enjoy this car but have a new car project in mind for the near future and must part with this sweetheart before I begin. I am well known on the CF so people will vouch for me and for this car.
2002 Electron Blue Convertible, black interior, white top.
One of the very first Lingenfelter inter-cooled Maggie blowers (high polish), LPE blower cam, custom pillar vacuum gauge, Spec 2/3 hybrid clutch, Hurst Shifter, lowered, Bilsteins, Baer slotted and drilled rotors, CCW 505A’s with Michelin Pilot Sports, Corsa Indy’s, first Motor City Molds production carbon fiber hood, chrome hoops, LPE mats, chrome work underhood and trunk from Design Specialties, PIAA fogs, Speed Lingerie bra and mirror covers, Andy’s roller thingy’s to protect front end. Stock headers and cats. Has passed Texas emissions every year since I had the work done. You could get more probably with LT headers and hi-flow cats but had a design compromise with my new bride when it came to how loud it would be.
In addition to negotiated car price, you can buy the Valentine One which is already wired in and H3R halon fire extinguisher which is mounted in the car or I’ll take them when you buy it…your choice. They are not included in the car price.
This car was on the cover of the NCM American Sports Car Magazine in Summer 2004, was featured in Corvette Enthusiast magazine Jan 2005 issue in an article entitled “The Ideal C5". Copies of both magazines and display of the CE article are included with the car. Currently, this car is in the logo for the National Corvette Museum and the avatar on the Corvette Forum site for the Cruise-in this year.

I bought the car on eBay in 2004 with 5000 miles. Now has 22000 miles. Maggie install was done by 21st Century Muscle cars in Dallas in 2004 and has been COMPLETELY touble free this time. I have never even had to top off the coolant in the intercooler system once.
Regularly maintained. Always garage kept.
For more pictures of the car please go to this site:

NEW!! Check out this video taken at the CF Cruisein! http://www.fototime.com/DF88B10F0D30453/conv.wmv
Price:
Current Kelly BB for 2002 C5 vert price plus all mods comes to a little over 60k. That is what it would cost to buy the base car today and have the work done. I think right ballpark for asking price is current KBB plus a third of the mods so I am asking 42.5k. I believe that selling a car should be as much fun as buying one so I'm happy to speak with you.
I recommend you fly to Houston and drive this car home (or to BG). If you'd prefer, we could arrange to have me drive it to BG for the Cruise-In arriving Wednesday mid day and I'd even have it detailed for you before giving you the keys. Or you could arrange to have it shipped (I recommend you use Intercity Lines). Whatever floats your boat!
For specific inquiries about condition of the car, backup paperwork for all work done on the car, you are welcome to email me at dplette@aol.com or call me at 713 907-5289. I am not on CF every day so may be slight delays responding to PM’s. Email is better.
Car is docile enough for your wife (or your husband) to drive but still a crowd pleaser when you open her up. I originally took this car on my honeymoon in 2004 and it was a great and enjoyable road car for that trip. This car is still fresh, not tired and just barely broken in. Have never taken it drag racing (convert) but I believe it would be competitive.
Give me a shout! You will be glad you did.
Doug

Hey Bill,
Still working on the plans at the moment but will be a 21MC/LPE car, I can tell you that!
More on that later.

I'm going to be sorry to see you sell Doug. I can vouch for this car. Having been a passenger in it, is very fast and the mods look and work together extremely well.

Wow...I hate to see it leave your stable.....it's one beautiful ride!!
Any of you that know Doug, also know he does NOTHING halfway. I can guarantee this car is right.
Other than the perfect stance and overall appearance....I think the best testament came from a certain *magazine editor*.
Doug took him for a ahem.....*ride* in the nice cool air with the top down one night on the highway in Bowling Green. When he returned with a great big grin on his face, it was my turn to take him out for an "old school low tech" version of a fast Vette.
After our little excursion, the first question he was asked was "What's the difference in Jim's car and Doug's car?"
He said he loved the fact that Doug's had headrests...because at least when he was pulling that hard in his..he could see forward and not just looking at the sky!!.
Suffice it to say...anyone that buys this gorgeous car is getting the best of new style muscle. Smooth and fast!!
And you can *Buy it Now* just in time for the Forum Cruise In!!

Quick and fast with the reliability you would expect from a stocker. Not everyones supercharger package has those qualities. Doug...still remember the excitement pre and post magazine cover. Looking forward to your next project! Hard to beat 1/2$$$$ on modifications.

I can speak for this car. I helped install some of the basic mods (not the engine mods though!), I helped detail it the first time (along with Adman above), and I have driven it. This is one hell of a nice car!
Good luck with the sale.

I was there when it came home from 21st Century and can tell you it is wicked fast (on a closed course with a professional driver of course)
I helped with the basic mods, as I was the resident PIAA expert at the time.
Wish I could afford this car right now, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Great deal on a really fast machine!
Good luck Doug on your sale doug!

Corey I thought of you. Wicked time to get back into a Vette though given the new bride, new house and all.
DP
Corey...here you are in action as the PIAA expert!
And Jim you were wiring in the Valentine!
Car, still without hood at the end of that mod day....

Having seen this car at Cruise In and some of Snowman's other cars I am sure someone will get a very nice car. I'm also to what replaces it

I'm either going to do an LMB C6 convertible with Maggie blower and Z06 body panels (no Z06 insignia....just a wide body) huge meats under the rear, Ebony interior, 6spd, Nav, fitted with a custom made white top (essentially a C6 upgrade to the car I have now and a partner car to my Z06) or I am going to get a blue midyear convertible. Already have tuner, new hood and down to two choices for wheels if I go C6 direction. Either will cost me about the same money. Want something that I can drive that will be an eye catcher and be a lot of fun to drive.
But nothing happens till this car finds a new home! Hey if I don't sell it, will just keep enjoying the heck out it this summer!
Since OBO's are now legal, I'm open to considering a BO that begins with a 4. Send me an email while you still have the whole summer in front of you!

Many thanks VR! Seems like we haven't posted with each other since I built the Snowmobile! I certainly did recognize the profile of your hood though in the road racing pics. Brings back old memories!
Shiny side up and all of that!
