Gauging Interest - 98 Coupe - 6 spd--Price lowered--$18000
PRICE LOWERED TO 18,000. I've enjoyed her for 3 years, but alas, life in the city does not lend itself to keeping my vette. I've listed, in as much detail as possible everything I know about the car. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email or an PM.
Price - $18,000
Location - Chicago, IL
98' Pewter Coupe. Grey, leather sport seats (some cracking, I would say very presentable) ~60,000 miles. Just the glass top. Memory driver seat, power passenger seat. I believe the suspension is base.
Clean Illinois Title
Performance & Drivetrain:
-Blackwing Airfilter
-Magnaflow cat-back w/X-pipe
-CAGS Eliminator.
-New clutch 3 years ago (I belive they also replaced a good part of the transaxle) This was shortly after I bought the car, and it was fixed under the extended warranty that I bought.
-Breathless Performance Short Shifter (I love this!)
-Upgraded rear calipers - Not sure of the brand, but they say "Corvette" on them
-Slotted rotors
-Optima Deep Cell Battery
Apperance:
-Euro Taillights - These have the clear lens inserts
-chrome Upgraded wheels (They are either 00, or 01-04--I honeslty don't know, if you are interested and know the difference, i'll be happy to identify them correctly. These are in okay shape, the chrome is crap, but they look nice until you get down to clean them.
-All calipers are painted black, I also have the black dust rotor plates (althrough I don't believe they actually do anything)
-Shift boot and console (Pewter and Black) - These are from Mid-America
-Grab Bar, and Door handle covers (Grey)
-ZO6 fog light screens (real!) as well as the little screens that go in the brake ducts
-Full set of lloyds mats (fronts and rear) w/emblems
-Cargo net and cover
-I run a front plate, so I have both the front plate cover, as well as a custom piece I bought from a vendor that goes around the bottom and finishes it very nicely (It's painted to match the car)
-Windows are tinted (They arn't that dark, but they are to the legal limits--This was done at Ziebart so it's a lifetime warranty
Audio:
Pioneer N3 DVD Navigation system (just installed in march)
IPOD adapter for above (controls the ipod from the navi head unit--very cool
JL Audio Stealthbox with a 10" JL Sub in it.
Alpine Monoblock (to drive the sub)
History: I bought it March of 03', it had a little of 30,000 miles and it was bone stock. It came from Memphis, TN, and I am the second owner (so says the dealer I bought it from) The previous owner was an older gentleman who drove it only occassionally. When I got it, there was somethign wrong when i was shifting so I took it in and they replaced many synchros and I had them put a new clutch in for good measure. I gave it regular Mobile 1 oil changes and waxed it religiously. The paint looks great on it, except for a few chips. Last October i was in an accident on the front end. I had the work done by a professional shop that does many corvettes. They replaced the frotn bumper cover and the entire right hand headlight assembly. I had the word done by top notch professionals, and I one cannot even tell there was any work done. I took the run-flats off and put on a set of Nitto's (Still plenty of tread). I never took the car to the track, and tried not to abuse it.
If you made it all the way to the bottom, you must realize that I took a great deal of time trying to describe this car in as much detail as possible. Anything that was left out was left out completely unintentionaly.

Thanks for the email, need to see pics, and do you still have the factory radio and hook ups?

I do still have the factory radio in a box somewhere. I used the soundgate interface to get the speakers so it will be plug and play. The only wiring you would have to do is to get a line leveler to hook the sub into the old system.
I will try to beat the sun home tonight and take some good pictures outside so you get a good representation. I will also post them here so that all can see

Pictures!
Sorry, bad lighting, and it's dirty--but it's a start--watch for more pics in the next couple of days
The file server kinda stinks at loading the picture, but if you click in the "options" box in the upper right, and download the image, it's very fast. I'm working on finding another free file server--if anybody has any recommendations, i'll take them!

price ?
I have been C5 shopping for about 6 months. You really need some pictures that show you car "well" .
In the ones you have posted the interrior looks dirty!
Do a major detail job shooot some new pictures, and I think you will get attention.
Vette people at this site seem to care more about condition and history than stereos and window tint.
NO OFFENCE MENT HERE.. I am just trying to give some feedback to you request.
