Default Is this a scam?

I saw a car & e-mailed about it The seller sent me this:

Hy there
>> I just wanted to let you know that the car is in perfect shape. The millage
>> is accurate, no scratches, no damages, no hidden defects.clear title,us
>> specs, speedometter in miles. The reason for this sell is that i have a job
>> transfer in London,UK .
>>
>> For now I'm in London ,Uk.(the car is in the US),i will supply S/H.
>>
>> My offer is $13,900.00.The car is registered in the US.What else can I
>> tell you about it?...
>>
>> The payment will be done via secure pay which means that the Square Trade
>> will keep the money until you receive and inspect the car.
>>
>> I'm giving you 10 days in order to inspect the car.Let me know if you are
>> interested in purchasing the car.
>>
>> I'm waiting for your e-mail

My response:

Where is the car in the US? I am willing to buy the car but would like to
>see it first. If I buy the car there is no need for you to ship it.

His response:
As I've told you before the payment will be done via secure pay using SquareTrade.I am affiliated there with a protection account of $20,000.00.

SquareTrade is the best way for a transaction such as this one.

You'll have to give me your full name and shipping adress after which you will be contacted by SquareTrade.

The car is at Lufthansa Air Cargo ( Atlanta terminal )ready for shipping.

You will make a down payment of $1,900.00 after which I will start the shipping process.

In 2 to 4 days from then the car and all the documents that you need to pass it in your name will arrive to the address that you provided SquareTrade with.

You will have 10 days to inspect and test drive the car.

If you don't want to buy the car you will send the car back and all the documents, you won't have to pay for shipping back.

Your deposit will be kepped by SquareTrade until you will receive and inspect the car.In case something goes wrong SquareTrade will refund you 100%.

The transaction is simple so everything should go as planned.I have to tell you though that I will sell the car to the first one starting this deal by sending the deposit.

Thanks.I'm awaiting to hear from you asap.

Here was my response:

I will travel to Atlanta to see the car this week. Can you provide the
address for which (of 2) Lufthansa air cargo areas it is in. I will need the
VIN number also. I will also need the storage area or crate number to find
the car. If all is as you say, I will send all the money to you via square
trade and you can save on shipping.

I am waiting for his response.

Is this a Scam?????? Has anyone ever used Square trade???? Advise please.

Most likely a scam, show up in person, never send money without seeing and driving the car first. Good luck!

It's a scam. I've seen these types all over the place when I was shopping around for a supra. Don't do it.

Default scam

It is defiantly a scam. You see this in ebay all the time and if you tell ebay about it they will pull the ad. Ask him a bunch of questions like his phone number and tell him you want to pay cash in person and see what he says than.

Default scam

Definitely a scam, offer him twice the price in cash if you can pick up the car, and you won't hear from him again...

Its definitely a scam. A guy from ebay was selling an R1 that I was interested in and he sent me the same response. I told him that in no way would he have any money till we met in person and I saw the bike. After that he sent some me an email explaining this Squaretrade b.s. company and I replied by describing what an ******* he was

If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. *unless its that beautiful 2001 black z06 that another forum member just got for 24000.*
