SPECTER WERKES Torch Red Fixed Roof GTR - RARE!!

PRICED TO SELL!!! SPECTER WERKES Torch Red Fixed Roof GTR - RARE!!
Adult owned SPECTER WERKES GTR. The car was professionally built and has approximately 1000 miles on it since the conversion. The car is garage kept and pampered. It would cost you well over $100,000 to duplicate this rare one-of-a-kind. If you would like to know more, look HERE
IMPORTANT: This is NOT a body "kit." This is a body-off conversion. Every panel with the exception of the roof and rear deck lid is new and custom made for the GTR. The car is 77" wide... over six inches wider than stock. This is a professionaly hand built car.
Performance enhancements can be made and cost added to the purchase price. You may view optional performance packages here: Performance Packages.
There were very few fixed roof Corvettes built in 1999. This car was the predecessor to the Z06. However, it has many factory options not available at the time. Sports bucket seats, two tone interior, power antenna, fog lights and air intake screens.... just to name a few.
One of only 28 GTRs built, this fixed roof Specter Werkes' Corvette GTR is a complete package that combines both aggressive looks and asphalt hugging performance. The Specter Werkes Corvette GTR is the perfect combination for those drivers who demand styling, handling and exclusivity. As exciting and well executed as Chevrolet's Corvette C5 is, its world-class shape and performance are merely the basis for some to say, "that's a good starting point." Turn the key on the GTR and the open road is yours. The GTR personifies Specter Werkes' three point philosophy of design, passion and performance.
The GTR body swells six inches wider than stock, dramatically enhancing the Corvette's styling cues. The fiberglass panels are direct, bolt-on replacements for the stock panels, including the front fenders, front fascia, rear fascia, door panels, rear quarters and the fuel filler door. Wide, 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels, fill the wider wheelhouses. 285/35-series rubber wraps the front tires, while 345/30-series treads are fitted to the rear rims.

Nice looking GTR! I have the #5 car (pics below). This is the one that was featured in Road & Track in the May 1999 issue.
Did you have the conversion done on the car after you purchased it? How did you find Specter Werks to work with? Any engine mods? Mine is a 382 Stroker, 11.5:1 forged pistons, forged crank, billet rods, Z06 heads, and headers -- And I Just had a beefier cam and Halitech air intake installed -- Dyno'd at about 500HP at the flywheel.
So they've built 28 cars now? Last I spoke with Jeff (last year), I think they were working on #26. What part of the country are you in? I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. Have you run across any other GTR's out there? Any others been sold lately? Have you had any bites on selling it? I was thinking of putting mine on the upcomming California Barrett-Jackson auction, but they postponed it (until next year it appears).
Good luck on selling it! . . . If you haven't already. What makes you want to part with her? I've decided I'd rather have something I can take to the track and not feel sick if I ding it (just too nice to race!). I'd like to find a clean Z06 with a trashed motor and transplant a supercharged 427 into it. That's pitiful isn't it, when 500HP just isn't enough anymore! . . . It can be addicting!

IMO these GTR's are way cooler than the C6. Maybe I'm just slow to embrace change. I like the lines of the C5 (even stock ones) far better than the C6. Plus my GTR will run circles around any stock C5, C6 or Z06 -- It'll even leave stock Vipers in the dust.

However I do feel that the red Specter Werkes is really nice looking. Best of luck with the sale
