PIcture link not working. Asking for password.

You might have to make the pictures for public viewing. At least that is wha you have to do on webshots.

I am curious to the weight savings of the vehicle with the Carbon Fiber BODY?

BTW: Beautiful Vette

Good luck with the sale.

Where in Florida are you.

Thanks IVOZ06. Please tell me how you posted the pics? I've been trying to figure it out for over a year!

Car just turned 9K miles. Tittled as 1999 Corvette. Body and paint perfect. Just did the interior. Original was in good shape but they did it in black and siver/white. Didn't make any sense to me on a yellow car! Never had it weighed. One would think it would be 150-200 lbs lighter?
IVO, I'm in beautiful downtown Lutz! Not far from you.

Thanks George!

I had the car dynoed when I first got it and they said it ran 365/385. Quite a bit of work has been done since, so it should be better than that but, the 500 is probably overstated by GTP in Houston (IMO). All the literature that came with the car states 500 so I left it that way.
435 or so at athe flywheel might be more accurate. Technology has certainly improved since 99. As one would expect, car has a lot of low end torque (stroker) We have a tentative dyno day scheduled for April 10th.

That's an awesome car...

Yes, 500 HP is overstated heavily...that would be assuming nearly 30% driveline loss...which is way above the more commonly accepted 12% for manual transmissions...

Engine probably has around 410hp, but the torque is going to make this car much faster than many in this HP range...and a cam could certainly wake it up a lot...

hello CavalloGT
i am very interested in the car..few questions for ya...

are u the first owner?

has the car been raced, etc?

what/how did u cover insurance issues. was the car covered completely???

in case something happened to the body, what would i do to get a replacement... can i order new body panels since it is all CF?

do u have any more interior shots...or more pics in general?

how does the roof work, any leaks, etc???

any upgrades to the tranny/rear to hold power of motor..

could u give me a spec sheet of the parts used in the motor build up?

did u fix the oil consumption problem? or is it still eating oil due to the ring issue?

does the car still overheat in traffic.. i do a fair amount of traffic drives...

shorty headers or long tubes?

if u could please send me an email with ur phone number, perhaps we can chat over these issues... i would much appreciate it..

thank you,
Aj

E-mailed answers to all bad burbs questions.

You're correct about the cam, Pace. Cam is better than stock but was designed in 99 and car had to be 50 state legal so it could be improved quite a bit along with headers and, scrap the cats or get high flows. I don't race the car. I'm an old Fa^%T! It sounds and runs great. Gets all kinds of attention at shows. Time for a new toy.

has the car been raced, etc? No

what/how did u cover insurance issues. was the car covered completely??? I just listed it as a 99 Corvette. Some risk here I suppose but I don't drive it that much and, except for major damage, I figure I'm covered.

in case something happened to the body, what would i do to get a replacement... can i order new body panels since it is all CF? Down's Manufacturing in Michigan has the original molds and will provide replacements.

do u have any more interior shots...or more pics in general? Lots of pics. I'll send you more later today or tomorrow.

how does the roof work, any leaks, etc??? No issues here whatsoever.

any upgrades to the tranny/rear to hold power of motor.. No. I don't believe it would be necessary at this power level unless you're headed to the drag strip.

could u give me a spec sheet of the parts used in the motor build up? I'll dig this out and send it later. GTP in Houston built the motor. Charged over $20K for it but trying to get all the specs from Craig has been near impossible. I know it's forged because I had to pin the crank and went through a lot of cobalt drill bits!

did u fix the oil consumption problem? or is it still eating oil due to the ring issue? What oil consumption problem? I get carbon mixed with moisture in the Florida humidity. Very little oil consumed.

does the car still overheat in traffic.. i do a fair amount of traffic drives...
I'm not sure whose car you're talking about anymore? When I first got this car it would heat up to 235 in stop and go traffic in Florida in August. That is normal for a Corvette. With thermostat and fan programming, I don't see 200 degrees. Runs 186-196.

shorty headers or long tubes? B&B stainless shortys. I f you wanted it, This car could gain a lot of power with long tubes, high flow cats and a cam as it was designed to be 50 state legal and we're talking 99 technology as opposed to what is available today.

if u could please send me an email with ur phone number, perhaps we can chat over these issues... i would much appreciate it..
luvzcarz@hotmail.com Phone is (813) 909-0581. I'll be home this evening after 5:00. (Jeff)

thank you,
