Hey guys, looking for my first vette and ran across this one. 1989 dark blue metallic convertible, very low mileage (56,000), tan top less than a year old, tan leather interior, driver and passenger power seats, ZF 6 speed manual transmission, oil cooler, heavy duty radiator, bilstien shocks, automatic air conditioning, ZR1 style silver wheels, nice BFG KDWS 17" tires, bose audio, new headllight motor bushings, interior in nice condition with minimal wear on drivers seat in normal spot, runs and drives excellent.
The owner is asking $10,500...any opinions on if the price is fair or not. Kind of a rookie, but really like the looks of the 89/90 years and they are typically priced in my first vette range.
Re: 1989 Vert - 6 speed - help on the price? (rrshepard)
Seems like a fair price!
( At least looking at it from a Californian perspective, they seem higher priced out here)
I say, see if you can get it for a little less, and go for it!

Re: 1989 Vert - 6 speed - help on the price? (rrshepard)
Thanks guys...I am just seeing some 89's out there right now priced at $10,500 for a coupe with 70,000 and 90,000 miles and this one is a vert priced the same with 56,000 miles. Seems like a decent price to me unless those other ones are way over priced. Thanks again.
Re: 1989 Vert - 6 speed - help on the price? (rrshepard)
Actually, I am thinking about a black one closer to home. It is a 89 Vert (Black), very nice car and it is in MI where I am not Missouri. The only couple of issues I have with this black one is that it is an automatic which I really wanted a stick and it has 90,000 miles on it and of course the price which I believe is $12,000 firm. The paint on this one is much better than the other one, so that is a plus. Any suggestions on the price?
Thanks..

If you are going to pass on the one located in Missouri....could you shoot me the info on it as it sounds like something I might be interested in and I do live in Missouri!!!
Re: 1989 Vert - 6 speed - help on the price? (rrshepard)
Ya gotta act on these verts quicker! The guy I bought mine from had it in the paper no more than 1 day and had many calls. I bought it the first day! He still received numerous calls from all over. :)
Re: 1989 Vert - 6 speed - help on the price? (Cal Vette)
I know I screwed up! The 6 speed is the one I wanted also. Anybody else out there have an 89/90 6 speed, I would love to take a look. The closer to MI the better also.
Thanks...TTT for myself!
Re: 1989 Vert - 6 speed - help on the price? (rrshepard)
I think the price is right on. Obviously if you can get it for $500 - $750 less, that would be a killer steal IMHO. The '89 was a great year in the L98 lineup. And to have a ZF-6 is priceless, about 3/4 of C4's were autos. Great color combo too. I say GO FOR IT!!!!!
Re: 1989 Vert - 6 speed - help on the price? (rrshepard)
Here's a few tips: http://www.holtautosales.com In the Lansing, MI area. P R I C E Y ! Grand Valley Corvette Shop 616-784-7308 in the Grand Rapids area. Good prices, kinda flakey operation though. Take any car you find there to Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids and have them check it over first. http://www.centralmichiganautobrokers.com in Manton, MI just North of Cadillac. His prices are not too bad. I stopped there once and the guy seems to have it together and knows his Vettes. Maki Auto Sales in Muskegon, MI has a few vettes 231-788-1111, I know nothing about them. You can also try Tradewind Auto Sales in Muskegon. I don't have their number. I have looked at some of their cars in the past and most were high-mileage but you never know unless you try! Good luck! :blueangel: Oh yeah, write or e-mail the Michigan area Corvette clubs - sometimes their members are thinking of selling. You can find a list of clubs on the Corvette Fever web site and elsewhere.
