Hello to any readers. My only experience has been with my 66 425hp rag back in my college days so I am new to all this added stuff on the new vehichles. I am looking to buy a C4, 95 model, and wondering just what a carfax can tell about the car, how accurate it is, how to read the report, If there is anyone who can run a report and tell what it means I would be greatly indebt. I have been browsing the C4 areas but not finding much on how and what to look for. I have tried to run the vin number on carfax and request for money is all I am getting in return. The vin I have been looking at is 1G1YY22PXS5104186. I am not sure that this is acceptable although I have seen numerous request. If not acceptable, please accept my apologies.

Carfax is a relatively reliable tool but because many states have various laws, not everything shows up. In most cases it is only useful back to the early 90's when vehicle databases were kept for tracking SMOG certs and regristrations. Treat it like a Cliff's notes of a vehicle history, not the whole book.
My carfax subscription just lapsed but I'm sure someone will pass the report to you! Good luck in your search!
