1996 LT-4 CE Convert. for Sale!!! - THE PICTURES ARE READY!!!
Finally, I have convinced my wife that the Vette just doesn't work as a second car when you are doing major work on your house. It is time to get a truck (made by the General of course). But to do it, I must sell my Vette.
It is a 1996 CE Convert. with 6 speed/Lt-4. The top is black and the interior is red leather. Garage kept, rarely driven. 28,xxx miles. It had just over 19,000 when I purchased it in 2001. This is an extremely rare color combination in the convertible.
The interior is in fantastic condition. Carpets and seats are spotless with very little wear. As you would expect, most of the wear is located on the driver's side footrest. The rest of the carpet shows virtually no wear whatsoever. Door panels and cargo area are perfect. I have scrubbed the carpets with Woolite once a month, cleaned the interior weekly and kept a de-humidifier on the pass. floor. Let me stress that there are no leaks in this car. The de-humidifier is there becasue I store it in a garage with the top and windows up and do not drive it at all during the week. As most hot rodders will tell you, condensation can occur from the humidity in the air when a car is stored. The dehumidifier makes sure that this does not happen. As a result, the interior is moisture free and smells fresh. ArmourAll (or any other product that would dry the interior) has not been used. The leather is cleaned and treated with leather care products regularly. The dash and other plastic parts are cleaned and occasionally dressed with a non-drying, silicone based dressing. If you keep the interior clean, you don't need to use that stuff very often.
Exterior is virtually flawless. No visible scratches or chips. No dings, dents or other marks. Car was washed and waxed religiously. I always used high quality carnuba wax and recently switched to Zaino. There is only one very small chip on the headlight cover. You can't see it on a casual inspection. It was repainted and looks very good (ie it does not look like it was done with a touch up brush kit from the dealer)
Top is in great condition. I have cleaned it regularly, brushed off dirt as needed and used sealer on it every winter. It looks great. There are no leaks. It seals tight just like new.
WARRANTY - YES, this car comes with a WARRANTY. In 2001, I purchased a 3 year/36,000 mile GM Major Guard warranty from the dealer. The warranty expires in May, 2004. This warranty IS transferrable. This warranty cost $1627.00 and is a huge plus in my book.
Options - In addition to the CE option package, the car has Preferred Equipment Group 1. This means Electronic Air, Delco Bose Gold (CD and cassette) and power seats (both sides).
Engine. Virtually stock. The only mod I made was a triple intake from SLP. I think it helps the car breathe better. I still have the original filter set up if the buyer wants to go back to stock. The engine compartment is also extremely clean (no rocks, no oil, no coolant or other fluids, no road dirt and the rubber wheel well gaskets look like they are brand new - see my gummifluge discussion below). Oil has been changed at no more than 3,000 mile intervals (last changed on 9/5/03).
Stereo - Gold Bose w/CD and Cassette. Sounds fine, never any problems with it.
Alarm - Clifford alarm with perimeter sensing so you can leave the top down. No problems with the alarm, works just as it should.
Tires - New Kumho Ecsta MX's (about 1000 miles on them). No ArmorAll or other chemicals that would dry the rubber have been used on either the tires or any part of the interior or rubber mouldings. Tires get silicon based dressing only.
Brakes - front brakes replaced around the same time as the tires (also had it aligned).
Tranny - shifts great, no rattles or other problems. Tranny oil changed on 9/13/03 with Castrol Synthetic.
Rubber - I use "gummifluge" (BMW weather stripping treatment) throughout each summer and give it a heavy coat before storing it each winter. The rubber is soft, no cracks and looks brand new.
Exhaust - still stock (although I have thought about going muffler-less many times). System is in great condition. No rust etc...
Undercarriage - very clean and in good condition. No rust. Tough to get very dirty or rusty when it is not driven in bad weather
I have babied this car in every way (ie I didn't just clean it up for the sale). From what I can tell, the previous owners maintained it at least as well as I have. It was truly just a weekend cruiser for me (trips to the beach or mountains, gym etc... def. not a daily driver). Almost never drove it in bad weather (only if I was caught in it). When it was rained on, I brought it home and dried it off in the garage right away. Only in the snow one time and that was out of desperation. After that trip, it was washed down in the garage (tires and wheel wells included), dried and waxed.
This car has not given me a single problem. No leaks, no smoking etc... I have the original window sticker and owner's manual in its leather case (with pen and flashlight). Original price of the vehicle was $50,054.00.
I am asking $26,000 obo. Shipping/delivery can be arranged. I can send the VIN number and answer any Carfax questions you have on request. I can also provide you with a list of option codes for reference.
Whoever buys this will be getting one sweet Corvette. It would be perfect for daily driving or weekend cruising (or both) I would rather sell this to a forum member than on E-Bay so please email me if you are interested.
PICTURES ARE HERE!!!! Thanks Paul for all of the help.
If anyone wants electronic copies, please email me. I also have actual printed photos that I can send to you. They are better than the electronic copies. Just send me your address in an email and I will mail them off.
Thanks!

Pictures...... Please bear with me. I have been having major technical difficulties on my end. If it is not the camera and the scanner acting up it is the weather (we have been having a ton of rain up here).
With any luck, this weekend will clear up and the camera will work as planned. Thanks for your patience.
