SOLD. 1996 Corvette LT4 - Needs Engine Work
All
I have a 1996 Corvette with LT4 and 6 speed that I would like to sell. I purchased the car in June of 2022 and have put about 3500 miles on it and the car has ~55K miles in total. When I purchased the car, I was told it was maintained well (have records) and there were no issues.
In September after a road trip I noticed low oil pressure when the car was hot at idle. I took it to a shop in Chicago who replaced the oil pressure sensor, the fuel pump, a few other small items, and did an oil change with thicker weight oil. The shop did check the pressure with a mechanical gauge and assured me the engine was ok.
Now today, the oil pressure is showing low again and the oil plan was removed. It was found that someone had been in there before and put in a high volume pump and a new gasket; potentially to baid-aid the low pressure issue. I am clearly disappointed that the car was sold to me with an issue that was known but caveat emptor; it is my fault, I should have done more diligence.
Results are that the main bearings and the rod bearings are damaged and need to be replaced. I am not sure what the cam bearings look like but I anticipate they are damaged. The main and rod journals on the crankshaft appear intact and probably only need polishing but I cannot guarantee it.
Outside of this (which is obviously an issue) the car is in good shape, tires are from 2019, climate control works, headlights work, etc. I don't really have the time to pull the motor to repair / replace and thus am interested in selling as is.
The car is in Chicago. $10K.
Below are a few pics, I have many more if desires.

Thank you, appreciate the note, I am disappointed. The car is quite nice and I have enjoyed it a lot. I was working to sell it to fund my move into racing. If there isn't interest I will look into the options to fix.
