SOLD!! 1996 CE LT4 with full Greenwood kit, 87,000 miles
Price Reduced to $12,000, needs to be sold. Thanks for looking!
Very reluctant sale, but I have too many project cars and a few have to go. (Also selling a 63 Falcon project).
Really nice, rust-free, reliable 96 Collectors Edition with full Greenwood kit. Manual ZF6, LT4 engine. I've driven it just over 5,000 miles in the last year and enjoyed every one of them. I've tried below to list everything that is good (and bad) about the car.
The good.
Starts, runs and drives really nicely. A/C works, all electrics work (although see ASR/Lighting below). Has an aftermarket Pioneer conversion with bluetooth and a rear-situated amp behind one of the rear speakers. Has Borla mufflers that add a nice tone, but not overbearing. "love it or hate it" Greenwood kit is in very nice condition except for a few scrapes underneath on the diffuser and a small damaged side stripe piece. C6/Z06 wheels with ties less than 3 years old. This sale also includes original ZR-1 style wheels that were painted black at some point but the tires are 11 years old. Sale also includes new rear 325/25/19 tires.
Note that the under-hood picture was taken just before the new alternator and dewitts radiator, and I need to get a shot of the inverse LCD screen. Will post them Monday.
Maintenance in last 12 months:
- Oil and filter change, Mobil 1
- New Rotors, Pads, Braided brake lines, Master Cylinder, DRMS proportioning valve, Full DOT4 flush.
- New Water Pump, Alternator, Belt, Idler Pulleys
- New Plugs and Wires (I believe Opti still original)
- New De-Witts 3-Row radiator and hoses
- New headlight motor "bushings"
- Upgraded throttle pedal mount
- Refurbished Digital dash using the "orange on black" LCD option from Batee
- New window guides
-
The bad (and/or "to do" list)
- Has aftermarket LED headlamps but the installer wired the main beam into the fog light circuit so the main beam light comes on the dash when the fog lamps are switched on.
- The ASR warning lights are on constantly because the Z06 wheels are very different sizes front to rear. I also believe that the very large rear wheels are effectively "up" almost a gear, so the car (while decently quick) is not as fast as with stock size wheels
- The rear wheels use spacers to stop rubbing, but the nuts only get 6 turns. I have new extended rear lugs that need to be installed before any rally cross activity.
- CAGS is not disabled yet, I have the adapter wire ready to go
- Needs new rear swaybar bushings, occasionally clunks over bumpy roads
- Weird / minor vibration from rear above 80mph (ok, bite me) and it's probably the sway bar bushings or that huge rear wing.
- Some damage to the fiberglass drivers "A" pillar trim from when the window guide failed.
- Needs new window seals. It is stored inside so there is no water ingress but they'll need to be addressed at some point
- As usual the seat controls dont fully work
- The drivers seat is torn hence the seat covers
Happy to answer questions.
