Default Would you even go look at it?

http://omaha.craigslist.org/cto/4614337022.html

Could go either way on this one. Could be a quick fix, could be a money pit….what do you think? I've been looking for a 6 speed late c4 and can do tons of my own work including engines.

Thanks

I wouldn't go near it. For the money you will invest in it, you could buy a pretty nice one. Salvage title on it?

The only thing that car is good for is a race car. You could have bought 2 nice condition C4s for the amount of cash you will put in to restore this one.

And it's definitely not worth $3800. More like $1200...

This car Will Be the bad dream that magazines write about.

Even if you fix it up, nobody else will buy a flooded C4.

Forget about it, walk away fast!

I just read the description. The only way I'd take that car is if it was given to me. He said that car was completely submerged like 2 years ago and not fixed properly yet. That means that the salt corroded every electrical component in that car. You can usually save the salt water cars within the first few months if the water didn't go that high. But this car has no value.

i'm a total newbie on all this, still looking/dreaming.
$3800, says it doesn't run, and just shows exterior shots and not a very good interior shots. um, let's see motor pics.

if you're wanting to spend $3800, why not look for the member who's trying to sell his 84 (?) for $1700 or so, at least his car RUNS, he states the things it needs...but it runs....

i guess for me (even being a total dummy w/ cars) if he says:
it's not running was under water at some pt in katrina....hmmm,
i'd look else where....

The only thing I would buy that car for is parts.

Then you would have questions if anything there was of any value or usable.

Make a great parts car.

Give me the $3800, I'll play Powerball with it. Parts car or a money pit from the description you give.

bet the engine is stuck because of hydraulic lock.. which many times results in a bent rod. or two. Salt water entered that engine. 3,8K bucks? hell no.
Indianapolis craig list. same price, much better shape, runs great..(1995) not mine, ect. Its an LT-1

Nope! Even if it wasn't a flood car, base C4s are not worth saving once they are this far gone, And this one needs a ton of work.

The seller seems to be being honest in his discription but unfortunatly that car is not worth 3800$.
1k tops and for a parts car only.

When I saw this I thought it was worth of the "run Forest run!!!!" comment. Too bad as I have been looking for a 6 speed late C4 and this one is local out here in the sticks.

I agree that it is way overpriced and likely going to be a nightmare. Looks like we're all on the same page. Too bad the guy got stuck with this one.

Thanks guys.

Wouldnt even pay 1000 for it

The water has destroyed every component in that car think about it

Brake parts, trans rearend bearing races etc etc.

Doubt much of anything would be reuseable.
