For sale 1992 polo Green convertible $7500.00
I'm selling my 92 Polo Green
convertible with 96170 miles. I have it at a dealer in West Babylon Long Island;http://www.hollywoodmotorsusa.com/newandusedcars.aspx
I'm letting them handle the sale, its listed for $8900.00
I've put over 10K into in the 9 years I've owned it.
New paint, had it done the right way, they took it apart and spent 4 months getting it right
Wheels and tires
Windshield
Transmission
exhaust and front suspension
stereo custom speakers in front two 6 inch subs in the rear with a 500 watt amp and Alpine head unit
headlight motors redone
battery, alternator
redid the whole ignition system the right way so no probs there.
new radiator and hoses
All the pics can be seen on their site but any questions just post.
And I have a 3.07 rear that needs rebuilding for it..I'll throw that in with the rebuild kit I bought.

Seems like your price is fair enough, especially with all you have done to the car. Like I said, it is a nice looking car. Is there some issue with the differential? Why do you have a spare? Maybe an engine compartment pic would help. Maybe everyone is just out having summertime fun. You should be able to sell this car fairly quickly, just gotta find the right buyer. GLSW

As others have said, the car looks great and the price seems fair. Looking at the Hollywood site I have to wonder if yours is the lowest price on the lot? That location might intimidate the lookers and being out on the island cuts down on through traffic. Hopefully it's visible from the street with a sign that says summer fun! The more advertising you have the better your chances with quick sale. Is it up on craigs list, local classified, eBay? Brokers are ok but you can't leave them to do all the work, they have lots of cars to sell. Higher priced cars yield higher commissions.

I'm going to get the car out of there soon..maybe I'll just keep it rather than give it away..have to find a closer garage though...just sux to drive around these areas..the roads suck.

You have a really nice car there. I just can't see any reason why you haven't had any hits on it. Have you really tried any other avenues beside the dealer where you have it? This car should be worth what you are asking. Craigslist is free and easy. Try it. You are starting to sound desperate. Don't give up. If you really want to sell it NOW.... drop the price by a thousand and see what happens. I would hope you wouldn't have to go any lower than that. Hang in there bud..

The biggest issue is that I now live in the city and the car is in Long island , so I had to give it to a dealer to show it ..I can't run out to LI every time someone wants to see it. Wish I could just trade it and my Jeep in for something newer..but the trade in value is a joke..the 99 Jeep probably is higher...

And the screwed up thing is...for the price of the paint job alone..you can buy my whole car...I paid 5K for it and then dumped in about 12k over the years..and put on about 2 to 3K miles a year so everything is still in great shape...so anyone who wants a car like this..would have to do the same..and end up in the same boat..if I knew then what I know now and could have bought this for 8K at the time...not hard math...and even if you can buy a 2000 something for 16K...you think its going to be trouble free and in great shape...nope...this car is for someone who has around 10K to spend and just doesn't want to get sucked in to a high buck ride...all the major stuff is done...plug..and play...
