Default FOR SALE: 1996 Chevrolet Corvette-IMMACULATE!

FOR SALE:
Our 1996 Chevrolet Corvette
Torch Red exterior with black leather interior
46,XXX actual miles
5.7L LT1, automatic transmission
The car is immaculate and it is nearly flawless from top to bottom. The car has never been involved in an accident and it has never been subject to any paint or body work. I looked the car over just about an hour ago and I can't find any imperfections in the paint. The wheels have not been damaged in any way. The tires are in great shape.
It has both tops with the original top bag.
I will include a picture of the window sticker so that you can see what all the car is equipped with.
The car runs and drives super smooth and presents no reliability issues. It has been very well maintained and very well-cared for, as you can see. This is a "no stories" car and it has never been in an unfortunate situation. The car holds a clean and clear Kentucky title that is ready for transfer.

Default nice car

Nice clean car. It's a tough market right now. I'm having trouble finding anyone who wants to give me a good price on my super clean 96. Good luck bud.

Very nice Vette! Yeah tough market for selling C4's. I sold my 96 auto for only $6k with 106K miles on the clock. Most buyers do not want an auto.

Yes it is tough. I sold my SUPER clean 96 white / black , auto. for 9000 yesterday. 99k miles. . A nice 60 yr old lady fell in love with it. Was hoping for more, but like you say, nobody wants an auto. I guess I should be happy with the sale, it brings me closer to the CE I want. Wife said " 2 vettes !!! you gotta be kidding " LOL

I started mine at 9000 also, but no bites until I got it down to 6000. I started the sale back in November. Listed on VetteFinders where it sold. Good for you if you got 9000.

Yeah I had offers of less, 7500, 8000, 8500, almost went for that one, just though I'd hold out a little longer. Sold it off a Craigslist ad listed it for 9750. several scammers. "On a ship at sea, and if you give me your paypal address, i will give you the asking price and 100 dollars extra" Sounded good, but I got a bad feeling on that one. Glad I didn't respond. Probably would have ripped me off somehow. I'm a dumb country boy. LOL. There are buyers out there, but lotsa creeps too.

You ain't kiddin', brother. It really is a tough market. I've got my 1994 here on CF, Autotrader, and Craigslist and haven't had so much as a nibble on it. I hope something happens soon though. Three Corvettes, a Mercedes, an Audi, and a Harley are more than my wife and I can realistically use.

Yeah Craig's list. Here is what I experienced with Craig's list:

1. Guys calls me from Vegas. It's a 4+ hour drive to my house. I send him additional pictures of the car (I had it listed for 7,750). Guy is excited and we set up a time. He arrives about 3 hours late, because he got lost. He gets out of his car with his wife. Spends about 5 minutes checking the car out. Has me start it. Never sat in it let alone took it for a drive. Wife wants to talk to him out in the street. After a few minutes, he comes back to my garage and says no deal. Wife did not like the interior color.

2. Guy calls me from Barstow which is less than a 2 hour drive to my house. He promptly arrives on time. Spends 15 minutes checking out the car inside and out. Has me start it, then sits down on my bar stool looking at the car. Then he starts to talk: "you know, driving here I realized how much I don't like to drive". Rambled on a bit more, then left back home.

I had the best time selling it on VetteFinders. Guy called me and was very interested in the car. We exchanged more information and he sends me a check to hold it. We meet a week later by an airport. We exchange paper for money. I show him the car and the features. I leave and he drives back home - a 480 mile trip. Sends me a text message in the late afternoon he arrived home and had a blast driving it. He got 28 mpg going 80mph.

Don't kid yourself that people only want a manual. While fully capable with stick, I prefer/want an automatic. My problem right now is timing. Can't do a thing until May, and by that time, yours will have sold. I also wanted a C6, but the C4 is just awesome.

I hunted down my 90 I had to fly 1300 miles to get it when I got there the car was only about half of what I expected.

I was too committed at that point to just go home.

Now that I have it the way I want it,after spending 4 months working on all the defects, I find that my bad leg won't handle the tough clutch in these cars, now I'm looking for an auto to replace it.

I love the way a c4 feels driving it, my 90 has fx3 and it rides so nice I love driving if only my world was all interstate driving, I would be OK.

People are looking for auto's my first 2 c4's were auto's I loved them.

TO THE TOP!

It looks like the thread has had some decent traffic with price discussions. I am aware that this market is in need of revival and I hope that, with age, the market will strengthen.

I can assure someone this: If you are looking for a cleaner example, I'm sorry but it just won't happen.

Thank you for your interest!

What brand are the tires and how much life is left?

Does the car have any mods?

The tires are Defender ZR's with >80% tread life remaining.

The car does not have any modifications.

I would love to have a truckload of these cars. It would be a heck of an investment down the road. Look at the values of the sixties muscle ! Hang in there, somebody will appreciate this car.
