Default 1985 Corvette/1996 Grand Sport CLONE

FOR SALE: 1985 (1996 GS CLONE)

For sale is my 1985 Corvette.

This vehicle is a 1996 CORVETTE GRAND SPORT CLONE.

Cloning was done by previous owner.

Original power-train. 350ci TPI motor, with Automatic Trans 700r4
MOTOR runs great, and TRANS shifts beautifully.

Everything upgraded from 1985 stuff to 1996 items.

Interior is also updated with legit SPECIAL EDITION/Grand Sport seats.

Driver seat leather could use some "attention"

Most of the dash works, conversion caused some issues with some of the things working. (MPG guage)

Previous owner advised me mileage on chassis and power-train was 90k when I purchased it in 11/2010. However the updated dash reads much higher.

Vehicle does need TLC, however if you are like me and have loved the corvette Grand Sport, this is one way of having one, without worrying about having a RARE vehicle.

NEGATIVES:
-fiberglass issues in the upper quarters.
-some wiring issues that were not done completely right , but work.
-HVAC blower motor controlled by a toggle switch which allows only one fan speed.

If you are Seriously interested, and want to discuss the vehicle, give me a call or text at 484-824-3343, or email me at popo8@comcast.net
.

$3,800 Firm

I cant access photobucket at work to post pics, but it is the car in my avatar.

I have 7 cars, and Im thinning out...
I do not need to sell, please do not lowball me.

Someone put an awful lot of work and money in that!
Take it to Carlisle in August. You will sell it there.

Every time I have seen an older Corvette bodied up as a newer Corvette, it has stayed on the market for a long time, and the price would constantly drop if it ever sold. If the price didn't, it would stay for sale for a long time.

Not trying to be discouraging, but that is what I have seen. Unfortunately, custom Corvettes are popular when they are new, and after they age, lose a lot of their appeal.

Good luck with the sale. Taking to a place where a lot of potential Corvette buyers, like Bloomington or Carlisle, show up is a good idea.

Good luck with the sale. Thought about trading it for a real GS? Prices are literally at rock bottom right now, a great time to buy.

I have , but the beauty of this one is that I could DD it, and if anything happened to it, it was not one of 1,000 rare cars....

Thank You though, and I dont have enough garage space for a real one....

No problemo, I completely understand you now - I must have missed the part about being a daily driver. Yeah, I certainly wouldn't daily drive a GS either. I'm paranoid enough about leaving mine parked anywhere for an hour or two.

Good luck with the sale!

Oh yeah. I learned my lesson at age 19. Had a custom Chevy vert with a hopped up engine, Hurst shifter and a 4:11 rear end. Sold it to a friend of a friend of a friend who was a few hundred short. Everyone said the dude was good for the cash. Never saw him or the car again.

Hi Larry,

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bill Spohn, Sr.(I know you have either met or spoke with my son regarding the Corvette.)

Larry, I will be frank. My son does not have his license, let alone his permit, because he has refused to be responsible in some small responsibilities I gave him when he was 16. He has not shown me that responsibility yet.

Personally, I do not want to clutter my driveway, garage, or yard with a car that can't be driven. I already have my Dad's boat in my garage. I do not care to put this car in my name or carry the insurance for it. I am currently employed only part-time. Also, every week, it seems there is always a different car every week he absolutely wants. Though I must say this one cause quite a fight between us on Father's Day.

Please, for today at least, do not contact my son further about this car. Or if he calls you, say you did not hear from me yet. Billy and I have a counseling appt with his pyschologist today at 5 PM and we need to discuss/mediate/defuse the situation.

If you have other interested parties, feel free to consider their offers.

I will get back to you.

Sincerely,

Bill Spohn, Sr.
(Billy's Dad)
Either he is an excellent troll that is totally bored harassing you to the fullest, or you should have seen something wrong with this weirdo right away and said I'll keep it for now..
