Default What's a 1985 worth?

I was thinking about buying a 1985, but I am not sure what it is worth. It has a trashed 700R4, but it is all there and runs. The paint is toast and the dash doesn't work. The guy says he will part it out if he doesn't sell it, does anyone know what it is worth? I would hate to see it parted out.

Thanks,
Trevor

I'm guessing 2 grand or less, but I could be way off.

I agree with the above prices. With drivers in need of some work going for $4000, the trans and the paint take it down to $2000 max....and that is if the interior is decent.

Just because it wears cross flags on the front doesn't make it worth an automatic $4K....far too many people think that.

Unless you really want an 85 (or an early C4 for that matter) I believe I would pass. There are a lot of better ones out there in the sub$4k range. From what you discribed you would need a truck to haul the money you'd put into it. Trans- $850, Paint-$1500, dash-$300 and that's assuming you can find the deals and do alot of the work yourself. Oh, and add at least $1000 for what you don't see.

I apologize, I wasn't looking for another car I already have an 86 and a 92. I couldn't believe a whole running vehicle would only be worth 1500, but it sounds like that is all it was worth. I figured if it was a good deal I could have tipped somebody off here as to where it was located. Wish I would have bought it over the shell I bought 10 years ago.

Thanks,
Trevor
